OBD code 2176 will not clear, car seems to die while driving

Regrettably, the throttle position sensor is an integrated part of t the throttle body on this vehicle. A new one will run you $356.00 from Gm Parts Direct (50% of retail). Perform the relearn idle procedure after installing the throttle body. Obviously, you'll want to first clean the interior of the throttle body and check continuity of the wires going to the ECM before purchasing a new one. Failure in not uncommon.

SOURCE: Burning rubber smell inside car-2003 CTS Cadillac

Diagnosing this will be subject to a process of elimination. It could be the radio, blower motor or any other accessory particularly ones with moving parts; Try switching those off and try to note when this problem occurs and what is on/whatyou are doing. Something is getting hot causing the smell so it will be a situation where the accessory will have to run a while before doing it. It is a possibility that there is an electical curcuit overheating, but less likely. Lets rule out accessories first and give us an update. GL

SOURCE: trying find my throttle position sensor on my 2003

Looking at the intake right where it goes into the manifold you will see where the linkage connects to the throttle. If you still cant make it out have someone rev the engine and watch it move. Right behind there on the same axis as the throttle is the position sensor. You should easily see the connector coming out of it.

The car says engine power reduce how can I reset that it's a 2004 Cadillac cts 3.6

Engine power reduced means it has a problem with the electronic throttle control system . You can't reset it , has DTC"S- diagnostic trouble codes stored in the computer . Something is worn , a position sensor in the gas pedal assembly or throttle position sensor on the throttle body . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop ! or the dealer .

" Is there a combination of instrument panel

Press F1 and F6 on the radio at the same time and hold down. When you release, all the lights will come on, then a prompt to "clear code" - push the select button (round knob to the right of the radio). This will clear the code. If the engine light does not turn off, unhook battery cables, clean them, then re attach. This has happened to my CTS a few times.
