Leave the serpentine belt on. Get a wrench or use a crescent wrench, hit to the left to loosen. It may take a few hits to loosen but will work. If not, use an air hammer.
The best tool for this is a ratcheting fan clutch tool, although the ones you can rent from Auto Zone work by hitting the wrench with a BFH ( big hammer) possibly quite a few times. Just changed the water pump on my 1998 Dodge Dakota with a similar setup and had to whack it about twenty times to break it loose being careful not to break anything plastic. Standing in front of the vehicle turn the nut towards the passengers side of the car and once broken loose, carefully spin the fan clutch off being careful to not damage the radiator.
Before removing the belt turn the nut counter clockwise. You may have hit the wrench with a hammer to loosen it. Because of limited space, the fan and shroud have to be removed at the same time. Do not lay the fan clutch in a horizontal position, stand it up.
Turn left/counterclockwise to loosen. You keep the pump from turning by holding the fan blades. Go all way around the fan and loosen the nuts before you take any out. Maybe soaking the bolts iwith PB penetrating catalyst will help free them.
When I do those I find it's easier to get some of the stuff out of the way. Fan shroud, Alternator, AC compressor(don't remove AC hoses just swing it over to the side) and the AC/alternator mount bracket. If you don't have the special hose clamp plyers they are worth buying. (those clamps are difficult with regular plyers) The fan clutch has a special wrench which is thinner. When you start the job break loose the fan clutch before you remove the belt. It keeps tension on the pulley. The nut is normal threading and usually comes loose with a sharp rap of the hammer on the fan clutch wrench.
Here is an illustration of the water pump bolts. I hope this helps you out. let me know how it goes.
