Battery just changed, but then went dead. Battery Tender blinks red.

Put a new battery in (through the wheel well, what a pain!) and the everything worked. But, after sitting for a week, that battery is completely dead. Tried charging it with a Battery Tender, but all I get is a blinking red light (supposedly means no battery found or connected). Is there a fuse between the remote charging posts and the battery that may prevent the battery from charging? Still don't know what drew the new battery down.

Its possible the charger is telling you the battery is too dead for the charger to work. A safety feature to keep from burning up the charger.
I'm not aware of any fuses between the jumping post and the battery. You may have a short in the car that is draining power.

SOURCE: We replaced the car's battery and now the dash board lights blink

Under the dash on drivers side is the black box for the security system. If you look on the box there is a little red button. Push the button for a couple of secounds and it will click and stop your marker lights and dash lights from flashing. It is a stock anti theft part of the security system. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: AC & Rear wiper switch button indicator lights blink

The procedure for re-setting the HVAC control panel on a 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan follows:
With ignition on but not running
1. turn knob to air vents
2. turn fan knob to ON
3. temperature setting on COLD (2X) {I have dual temp controls}
4. hold top(rear wiper) and bottom (rear wiper with wash) buttons pressing down together until all the buttons cycle through (this will require 1 to 2 minutes of continuous pressing)
I learned this from a very helpful local Dodge service adviser

SOURCE: Instrument panel went dead

Checked Every fuse in the fuse box (no small task). This includes #4 - Power point Instrument Panel, #14 - Day time running lamps (auto lamps doesn't work nor does auto lock), #27 - ignition switch run feed, #35 - Instrument Cluster, #41 - Instrument Cluster, #42 - Delayed Accessory, #45 - Ignition switch run/start feed, #102 - Door locks body security module, #103 - Ignition switch, #110 - Ignition switch, & #116 - Ignition switch. But I also check all other ones as well, they all register OK. AC panel & radio work. Turn signals work. Mileage does not work, trip computer does. So, basically, everything works except auto head-lights, auto locks, and the dash cluster (no MPH, RPM, mileage display, Fuel, Temp, Tran Temp, and Oil Pressure).

How do you reset the security on a 1997 Mercedes c230. the battery went completely dead and now it won' start.

Make sure the car battery is fully charged. Make sure your remote key has a good battery, too.
Place the remote in the ignition and watch if the red light inside the remote will blink when communicating with the car. The ignition key should be able to turn and the steering wheel should unlock. Then you can crank and start the car.

the car uses slight voltage from the battery even when not in use,, ( clock,, security systems,, ) Don't assume that the new battery is ok, I've had issues with a new battery before, take it back to where you got it, and ask them to LOAD test it, this will let you know if a cell is bad, ( which just happens sometimes) if one is, ask for a replacement,, if not, ask them to fully charge the battery ,, once thats done, put it back in the vehicle, and statr the car ,, now,, if you have a meter,, put the test leads on the battery terminals, ( hopefully you cleaned and tightened all the connections when you put the battery back in ) you should get a reading of between 13.5 and 14.5 volts ,, if you do everything should be ok,, if you don't,, then you need to have your alternator checked, its not charging the battery correctly, and could have been the problem all along, if so replace it Good Luck

Battery dead, key stuck in ignition.

I have had the same problem with my daughter's car. She inadvertnetly left the key in the on position and the battery went dead. Apparently an electrical current is neded to withdraw the key. I put a battery charger on the car for several hours and everything worked fine after that.

Sounds like the ground wire for the battery is not making clean contact. Trace that wire and clean both ends and the area it connects to the engine block. Good luck!

My Car Will Not turn Over

Sounds like you just need a jump. if that doesnt work and the battery is fully charged then you need to disconnect the wires from the battery and clean the cable hookups and the battery terminals. You can go to a auto parts store and get a terminal wire brush cleaner. Wire brush the terminals and the hookup till all the corrosion is off and then put some vasaline on the terminals and hookups to prevent corrosion later. Hook you battery back up and see if it will start.
