SOURCE: ASR Light

Replace the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, clear the codes, and perform a throttle body alignment (TBA). You will need the dealer to do it or find someone with a VAG-COM (see www.ross-tech.com) and do it yourself.

Parking sensors on my 2008 jag x type

Check each sensor for a 'clicking noise' this is the sound of it transmitting. If all are correct make sure all are clean in the small ring that the centre cell sits in (tooth brush and water) If all is okay here then it is likely you have a Module fault or cable / connection problem. Its always worth the time to disconnect and reconnect all parts to check if anything obvious comes to light as you do this.

Were is the 2004 Jaguar x type electric radiator fans relay at?

I don't know where it is; however, my husband and I have purchased 2 cooling fan assemblies for my 2004 Jaguar x-type 3.0 AWD. Neither of them would turn on. We have since been advised by a Jag mechanic that you must have a part called the link lead in order for the fans to work properly. This is a non-admitted (by Jaguar) default in this car. Check Quality Auto Parts 800-505-5838, ext. 1047 and ask for AMY. Hope this helps Nancy

2008 S-Type Jag with 19,000 miles. Dealer wants $695 to put on new rear brakes and rotors. Is this reasonable?

Do it yourself

Have you never paid $695 for brake
work before?

Why are you at a dealer?

What about a repair shop down the street

That would be about $300 for the same work

Can't shift

Diane,

It's happened to my Jag S type V8 (2000) twice- resulting in the car being towed to my mechanic.

It's the J-gate shifter-- it's plastic piece that fails when stuck in park (it's not your transmission going out, but that will happen by 60K miles).

Way to avoid getting stuck is to first pull the parking brake before shift from drive into park. And keep the parking brake engaged when you shift from park into drive or reverse (after you have shifted, then release the parking brake). I know it's crazy, but it works! Jag even addresses this in the Owner's Manual.

Beware: the car is a piece of junk- I can't wait to get rid of mine- going on 4 years and nothing but problems, spent over $10K on repairs....
