Kinda late to be thinking about that. But next week, go down and register and you won't have to be wondering two years from now. Or, just don't vote at all.
I can remember this issue from back in the Windstar days and Ford has yet to resolve it. It seems that if you let go of the ignition key too soon while it's cranking it will make that woosh noise and then it won't start. What I do if I hear that and the engine failed to start, is hold the accelerator pedal down just a little while I start it again letting the pedal off as soon as it comes to life.
If that was the only issue it will clear itself after a given number of starts. All manufactures are different so I can't quote the number of starts reguired. If it does not clear after 20 starts then you will need the code read from the car to determine the issue.
If this was helpful a vote on the thumbs up would be appreciated. Thanks for using Fix Ya
PO195 is oil temp sensor malfunction reason car has no power is a fail safe comp is getting oil temp false reading as a protection feature engine will run in safe mode oil temp reads normal range engine failure can result from oil temp very high that will cause the oil to boil and not be able to lubricate engine boiled oil is same as using water
if the engine temp is ok test the wire to oil sensor for power and ground for the switch if power ground replace the oil temp sensor
The catalaconverter can be getting cloged up try to have a fuel test done on it first to make sure that the feul pump is putting out the right amount of pressure that the manual call's for and if it ain't you will have to have the feul pump changed
check the fuses under hood and under steering wheel inside the car,if that dont help you will have to change the switch on the drivers door panel, double check if its connected tight.please leave comment, vote, note.thankyou
The best way to determine the problem is to get the trouble codes read. The most common issues are the brake switch (actually on your brake pedal) and the MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor). Since you're experiencing a loss of power I would definitely go with the MAF. If you were having trouble shifting out of park (if you have an auto) I would say brake switch (this switch has been recalled by vw 2x).
Getting the fault codes read would definitely narrow it down, but I'm betting on the MAF. Please rate/vote! Thanks!
