You can also try pulling the fuel pump relay under the hood and put it back in. works on my 2000 alero. and yes if the security light is on, you need to turn the key on and wait about 10 min. until it stops flashing, then turn off, then start car.
Fuel filter could be clogged. If not that, open the trunk, pull the spare tire, and smack the top of the tank with a hammer while someone else tries to start it. If it starts, then your fuel pump needs replaced ASAP.
Check your gauges - is the SECURITY light on or flashing? Than this is your problem.
If not - it's your fuel pump.
