SOURCE: crankshaft sensor located 98 jeep grnd cher 4wd 6cy

it is located at the back of the engine on top of the transmission bell housing, the plug runs over to the passenger side of the engine bay and it comes out from behind the engine, you can actually get your hand on the sensor itself from under the hood on the drivers side, and i believe its a 13mm bolt holding it in,the new sensor will have a sticker on the end of it...leave it there,it is used for correct spacing between the sensor and the flywheel, hope this helps

Testimonial: "Everything was just like you said but as a not atleast for my jeep it is an 11mm not 13mm. Works great so far (keep fingers crossed) "

93 jeep grand cherokee won't start. It turns over but doesn't start. It gets gas..i have replaced the spark plugs, coil, distributor cap, rotor, and wires.I have an optima battery which is still working...

If you have no spark, the most likely problem is a bad crankshaft position sensor. it is mounted on the bellhousing. below intake/exhaust manifold. held in by 1 bolt. A new CrankShaft position sensor should come with a small pice of heavy paper/ thin cardboard to use to set proper air gap between flywheel and sensor.

I have a 94 jeep wrangler 4.0L and it wont start. I have changed the coil ecu and auto shutdown relay. The coil receives the correct voltage and has a good ground but no spark from the coil. Any ideas?

Two other thing's control the spark, the pick up coil assembly, sit in the distributor or your crankshaft sensor, sit on top of the transmission over by the driver side, held on with a 10mm bolt.

1993 Grand Cherokee died, won't start. Crankshaft sensor replaced

It may be the brain of the jeep. if they get condensation in them from the rain , they can act as you described. It is only about a $30 part @ Pep Boys. It looks like a box with 2 or sometimes 3 plugs coming off of it and it plugs up to the wiring harness, and it mounts on the firewall or the inside fender-wall of your jeeps engine compartment.

94' Jeep Gc shuts off while driving. wont restart for hours!!

Sounds like either the fuel pump is going bad and overheating, or, the crankshaft position sensor is going bad...both items will give similar symptoms. Both are not terribly difficult jobs but are time consumers. Before doing either repair, you need a code scan and better diagnosis than I can give you here without a hands-on examination. Fuel pump can be diagnosed by spraying carb cleaner into the throttle body while cranking in "no start" condition. If engine fires up then stalls it's a pump problem. If not then it's a spark control problem.

93 Jeep Grand Cherokee Won't start

The crankshaft position sensor was seriously problematic in those old jeeps. It's located towards the top of the bell housing slightly to the driver's side I think.

Possible causes for suddenly having no spark on 94 jeep cherokee

There are several reasons this can happen, the most common is that the crankshaft sensor has failed. This should give a code of 11. I recommend that you do a code check, in order to get an idea of what problems may be before doing anything else.
Code check: turn ignition key of and on twice, then the third time leave it in run position. check engine light will falsh. one flash pause, next flash(s), longer pause, then next set of falshes. If just crank sensor you will get firss code of 11, then next set will be 55 (end code)
If you find this somewhat helpful, don't forget to rate it! Need further info? I'm here!!
