Code p0500 refers to vehicle speed (VSS) -circuit malfunction===causes wiring ---VSS---ECM
replace the VSS
I do not have the other codes available but from your description of the faults and the fact that the VSS is involved I suspect that the other codes will refer to a TCM problem

SOURCE: 2004 Mitsubishi Colt 1.1 Engine management light & code P0122

My girlfriends car has just started with the same problem, a limp home from the garage, a sleep over night and als well next day, for a while... I spoke to Mitsubishi and they have told me the TPS (throttle positioning sensor) is on the accelorator pedle assembly. There PN for this is MN125791 and its circa £88 + VAT. After exhausting all other options I may attempt this replacement and will advise the results.

Mitsubishi Colt 2006 CZ2 Automated Manual Transmission - fault code P1710 #07E8

well 1/2 you see on cars google are lies, or worse
that is because their car is not your
no is there failure nor same exact engine , transmission or EFI.
learn to do the tests, or take it to a shop (towed)
the ODB2 scans did not show P03xx errors so there are no spark errors, possible or P0300 to cylinder max 1 to 8 is common
p0300 means they all misfire. 0 means that. on all cars. EFI USA.
Cars are very complex now even 2006
is this car in Australia or Europe, we can't guess, and matters
cars are NOT THE SAME all over earth so not telling this key fact
gets you wrong answer for sure in public or googling in the wrong country. sorry but facts are facts.
dang the book even states the OEM P1xxx codes are no the same in all countries. P1 P2 and more are called OEM factory codes.
unlike P0xx USA federal codes standardized 1996 yes our invention and EPA mandated too and Canada 1998
what is super hard is finding COLT DTC lists me in USA>

what did you mean by AUTOMATED manual traNSMSSION
CVT? , NO, IT IS WHAT IT SAYS. IT IS AMT BOX FOR SURE.
THE ERROR MEANS HE SPEED I (TCM) CALCULATED
DID NO MATCH THE SPEED SENSOR READING.
BOX FAILURE FOR SURE, AMT.

Automated Manual Transmission THERE IS A FUSE WITH THAT NAME SO IS THE REAL NAME IN THIS COLT../
BINGO FOUND IT (NOT SEEN HERE)
AKA , Allshift 452/3AMT 6 SPEEDS.
AH Cool , IT IS A REAL MANUAL BOX. WITH AUTO CLUTCH
THE SHIFTER HAS PLUS AND MINUS BUTTON? AND 'A' FOR AUTO SO DOES ALL THOSE FAIL AND R TOO?

CAUSES, ARE
  • Due to software errors, shifting is accompanied by jerks and vibrations. Sometimes the reverse gear cannot be engaged.
  • The clutch actuator breaks down prematurely.
  • The transmission drums wear out fast. (OOH CLUTCH PACKS)
  • The brushes of the actuator motor wear out due to oil leaking into the drum assembly, for instance after a road accident.
THIS IS ONLY INTERESTING BOX. A GEAR HEADS DREAM.

My Mitsubishi colt automatic car runs fine but light comes on fault code 1867 I cleared fault but as soon as you switch off engine and back on again the light stays on again

How did you clear the fault? By using a code reader and clearing it or by disconnecting the battery? That only erased the fault from the ECM memory. That fault code is specific to Mitsubishis, so I have no idea what it means. But if the problem that set the code originally has not been corrected, it will set the code (and turn on the light) as soon as you try to use the car again.

What diff oil for a 3.0L mitsubishi colt 4x4 1999

Hi Shy Guy, The oil to use in a 4 X 4 differential should be a good quality EP 90, (Extreme Pressure), either synthetic or mineral. The same can be used in the gearbox, but you may find a slight beneficial fuel saving by using 70 w 85 gear oil in the gearbox. Regards John

How do you change the coolant on a Mitsubishi Colt Model RD 1988

Leave your Radiator Cap on for Preassure and look at your Radiator from Underneath. Should be at the Very bottom facing the Motor. Looks like a Wing Nut. Slowly Loosen this Wing Nut and your Coolant will Drain. The cap is left on to pull the Coolant out of the Block as you do this a Little bit into this you can Take the Radiator Cap loose and it will speed it up.
