The temperature sensor for a 2005 Buick Terraza with a 3.5L engine is typically located in the engine block. More specifically, it is usually located in the cylinder head, near the thermostat housing.
To locate the temperature sensor, you can refer to your vehicle's repair manual or try the following steps:
Locate the thermostat housing, which is typically located at the front of the engine, near the top.
Follow the coolant hose that is connected to the thermostat housing. The temperature sensor is usually located along this hose.
The temperature sensor may be attached to the hose with a clip or bolt. It is typically a small, cylindrical sensor with wires coming out of it.
If you are unable to locate the temperature sensor, you can try consulting the repair manual or contacting a mechanic for assistance. It's also worth noting that the location of the temperature sensor may vary depending on the specific make and model of your vehicle.

Location of Intake Air Temperature Sensor:
The intake air temperature sensor, which is mounted on the mass air flow meter, monitors the intake air temperature. The intake air temperature sensor has a built-in thermistor with a resistance that varies according to the temperature of the intake air. When the intake air temperature becomes low, the resistance of the thermistor increases When the temperature becomes high, the resistance drops .
The coolant temperature sensor is a thermistor mounted in the engine
coolant stream. A thermistor is an electrical device that varies its
resistance in relation to changes in temperature.
For 2.5L engines, the coolant temperature sensor is located on the left side of the cylinder head.
For
MFI engines, the coolant temperature sensor is located on the intake
manifold water jacket or near (or on) the thermostat housing.

There are SEVERAL temperature sensors on your vehicle (battery temperature sensor, intake air temperature sensor, evaporator temperature sensor, etc....you really should specify.
I will assume you mean the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor.
If this is the one you are looking for, it is located at the rear of the intake manifold on the left side.
The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor determines the air temperature
inside the intake manifold. Resistance changes in response to the
ambient air temperature. The sensor has a negative temperature
coefficient. As the temperature of the sensor rises the resistance
across the sensor decreases. This provides a signal to the PCM
indicating the temperature of the incoming air charge. This sensor helps
the PCM to determine spark timing and air/fuel ratio. Information from
this sensor is added to the pressure sensor information to calculate the
air mass being sent to the cylinders. The IAT is a two wire sensor, a
5-volt reference signal is sent to the sensor and the signal return is
based upon the change in the measured resistance due to temperature.
