SOURCE: Hesitation and Rough Idle

Hi, you stated that the original fuel pump is still installed. I would replace this pump as soon as possible. this may be the key issue. You can check the voltage on this part by using a voltage meter. you should get 14 volts here. if its less than 14, it will run weak , in return, preventing proper fuel flow. I would also check the injection system to see if its running properly as well.

please rate and god bless.

SOURCE: 98 ford e 150 van idles in park fine. But when

Did you try changing plugs and WIRES!! wires are the most common cause of this problem, under load if you have a bad cracked wire it will "leak" the spark causing a weaker spark there for making your spark at the plug weak not burning the entire charge in the cylinder. If this still doesn't solve your problem being the cheap way (im sure it may fix it) try by changing your coil packs let me know what happens. If all else fails you may have a sloppy injector

Disconnect the battery completely, try turning the key with the battery disconnected. Put the battery back together. The check engine light should be off now..

My 05 taurus hesitates at cruising i am thinking fueling problem

2005 Ford Taurus maybe needind a recalibration of the ECM.For lack of power at highway speed,Misfire at load?low RPM also,The operation of a fuel pressure sensor is to limit voltage to the fuel pump when certain amount of fuel is not needed, and increase voltage when fuel is needed. If anything you need a recalibration of the ECM.

My 97 ford escort runs fine on 0 solpe roadr. but when I drive uphill it hesitated on acceleration.

It sounds like low fuel pressure to me. Possibly caused by a clogged fuel filter or a weak fuel pump (or both). I would try changing the fuel filter first.

My 1997 Ford Taurus stalls when I accelerate. It only happens about 5 to 10 minutes into my drive. It starts up fine. If I am driving and the car stalls on acceleration, I can turn the car off and back...

Replace first, the fuel filter if this has not already been done. You may have a plugged filter, and these are very inexpensive. If this does not resolve the issue, locate the MAS (mass airflow sensor) located between the throttle body and the air filter housing. Start the car and let it idle normally; with a screwdriver handle or other such small tool, tap the mass airflow sensor (small black unit; will have a wiring harness hooked to the side of it); if the car dies, stalls, hesitates; first purchase MAS cleaner at the local auto parts dealer - specifically ask for Mass Airlflow Sensor Cleaner. It will should cost between 7-12 bucks - but you wont need the whole can - however, when using it: (if the car does not die, stall or hesitate and the idle stays the same, than the sensor is not bad) If it does however:
1. Remove the MAS (disconnect wiring harness) you may need to pull the top end of the air filter housing off.
2. Spray inside the sensor generously from both ends ensuring it's entirety is sprayed. Let stand for 15 minutes to airdry.
3. Re-install the sensor and start car. If there is still no improvement and the car hesistates, 1. Ensure the air filter as well is in good repair, and that there is nothing causing any air flow restriction between the airfilter and the throttle body.
4. If the airfilter is good, and there are no restrictions to air flow, consider replacing the MAS, however if you can get the car to the auto parts dealer, or to a technician (who may charge; auto parts dealers usually don't) have them run a diagnostics test on the car.
5. At this point, if cleaning the sensor has made no improvement, and the car stays idling, does not hesitate when tapping the sensor, the air filter is good, the fuel filter is good - then the next step is to replace the fuel pump.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Check engine error code PO174

A PO174 LEAN CODE FOR BANK 2 IS THE CYLINDER BANK ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ENGINE
(THE CYLINDERS FACING THE FRONT OF YOUR CAR)
A LEAN FUEL CONDITION COULD EXIST IF THE ENGINE IS GETING
TO MUCH AIR AND/OR NOT GETING ENOUGH FUEL
THIS CAN CAUSE MISFIRE, ROUGH IDLE, AND HESITATION WHEN ACCELERATING
THIS COULD BE
A VACUME LEAK, A DIRTY AIRFLOW SENSOR,
A EGR VALVE NOT CLOSING LEAKING EXHAUST INTO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD
IF ITS NOT GETING ENOUGH FUEL THE FUEL PUMP COULD BE BAD, THE AIR FILTER COULD BE DIRTY
OR IT COULD BE DIRTY INJECTORS
ID TRY FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER AND A NEW AIR FILTER FIRST
THEN TRY CLEANING YOUR EGR VALVE. COPY THIS LINK TO YOUR BROWSER FOR
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS TO DO THIS.
www.ehow.com/how_4809842_clean-ford-taurus-egr-valve.html

IF THIS DONT DO IT I WOULD TAKE IT TO A MECHANIC TO HAVE THE OTHER THINGS CHECKED
HOPE THIS HELPS.

1996 Ford Taurus power hesitation

If you disconnected the Mass air flow sensor the car should have die out at idle. Check fuel pump pressure at the fuel rail should be 30 psi at idle. Low fuel pressure will cause your po 171, 172, problems which could cause the other to problems. You might be needing a fuel pump and filter.
