89 camaro z28 starts fine in morning(when cold). Wont start at all when hot just keeps cranking till battery dies. Need help fast

Sounds like the cold start solenoid. It is designed to keep the engine running at a set RPM until it reaches a specific engine temp.

frist off is the cat still on the car? if not you have to get rid of the computer or bypass it becouse yhe computer runs all most everything.i had a 85 Z28 that would do that got rid of the cat douled it off but car ran bad or not at all took out the computer ran great after that

its your distributor, its whats known as a mechanical advance i know it sounds wierd that distributor has 2 two modes cold start wich is for however long choke is set for and idle, trust i had the same problem and i only met 1 person that had the right answer .

What you've described are the classic symptoms of a bad starter drive. The easy fix is a new starter. If I understand you're question correctly, the engine turns over a couple of times then kicks out and you hear the whining till you release the key. If thats the case a starter will cure it.
Also be sure to inspect the flywheel for any chipped teeth when you change the starter.

NOT GETTING ENOUGH FUEL OR SPARK.I WOULD CHANGE SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES.REPLACE FUEL FILTER AND CLEAN FUEL INJECTORS CHANGE AIR FILTER.SOME TIMES A LITTLE TUNE UP WILL HELP COLD START PROBLEMS.

Sounds like something is drawing power from the battery when you are not driving your car. Check interior lights, head lights, brake lights, aftermarket stereo or trailer wiring.

check the mas air flow meter could be starting to go and not yet throwing a code.

your spark plugs and wires is bad or intake manifold leak and a stop up fuel filter will cause hard cold start ups in morning.

i presume its a diesel

i reckon its the glow plugs get them checked i am sure a new set will cure your problem

try changing the crank sensor
