SOURCE: DSC fault on display, car stops complete electrical failure.

Hi Jagman

I suspect this could be your battery at fault.

Get it heavy discharge tested first.

Good Luck.

SOURCE: x-type jaguar automatic (gear box fault)

I have a 2002 X type (2 litre. done 44000 miles), dash showed gear box problem, (red circle light up). I pulled out and turned the engine off. 5 minutes later turned the engine on. The engine running but the car would not drive either in drive or reverse. Turned the engine off again and on the car driving but not much power. The care is taken to the Jag. dealer and told is misfiring + some gear box faults. Suggesting to change some coils and see (cost about £200+). also possible need to change the gear box costing about £2500+. Please advice. Shall I go ahead with the repair? Should I part exchange.

SOURCE: Hi, my car Jaguar S-type year 2000 shows abs

Could be your Rear ABS sensors , as that is the sensor that works for ABS and Traction control.

The speedometer and odometer on my 02 Jaguar X stopped working as I was driving down the road. However, when I stopped and restarted the car, it was all back on, but it continued to go on and off as I...

These faults can be associated with a malfunctioning TCM unit in the gear box as the sensors for the speedometer unit are on the out put shaft of the gear box and they tell the TCM what is going on . IF that information is not being relayed to the CPU unit then fault lights and codes appear. You can have the codes read free at autozone shops and they will tell you the code numbers .

E53 X5 will not go in gear

failed electronic stability control module.sits behind your gear stick.take it to a dealer to check the codes first.as they can check that part first. as two other things can go wrong in your gear box .but the codes will check that.

My jagaur 2006 2.7cc is indicated that parkbrake foult and cannot put it on drive

Park brake fault - Normally caused by low battery voltage. Try a reset.
Make sure you have your radio code !
Disconnect negative on battery - leave for 15 minutes then reconnect.
Apply foot brake then apply handbrake switch.
If this does not work you may have a park brake module/pump issue - that means main dealer fault reading visit
Hope this helps
- good luck.

You may need to disconnect the battery. After taking both cables off touch the negative cable to the positive post for approximately 13 seconds. This should pull any false memory from the computer.

Estate tailgate glass release button

I had the same problem with 2005 estate it used to open when starting the engine but does not unlock at all. The problem is the the sensor on the glass tailgate handle where the wiper arms is. It will cost around £70 from Jagaur themselves as I have just got one.
