The system may be activating because there is not enough power in the battery?
Check the batter connections and power cables.
Are the posts clean and tight.
Are the cables going to the battery, alternator and starter in good condition. Check to see if the insulation on the cables have not worn away some ware along the cables and shorting out.

Either you may be using a key that you had copied from the original or your chip went bad in your original key. Most of cars now a days have the key censor in the key so if it is the incorrect key it will not start your car or if it does not read that chip it will not start

This means that your key is not being recogonized.Ethier the chip in the key is bad or the patts transciever at the lock cylinder. Do you have a spare key? If not you will have to get 2 new keyss cut and programmed.

2008 pontiac g6 stuck in anti theft mode & only can jump start with new key

You do not have a problem with the anti-theft system , if the vehicle starts when you get a jump, you have a battery or charging system problem. It is not stuck in anti theft mode ??? Your best bet lady , take it to a qualified repair shop .

I inherited a 2004 mercury marquis and after anti theft was triggered, car won't go over 40 and overdrive light blinks

If the vehicle starts an drives, even at 40 to 50 miles per hour the anti-theft system has nothing to do with this. The PATS anti-theft system on that vehicle disables the starter from working to deterrer vehicle theft, that's it.

overdrive light blinks ?? you have a transmission problem with the electronics .With over drive light blinking codes are stored in the computer . Need to hook up a professional grade scan tool an check for codes . Your best bet take it to a qualified repair shop that knows what it's doing.

2003 ford ranger theft light blinking and won't start

the anti-theft has been activated and needs to be reset.you may have to get it to a shop that has the tools to do this or go to the dealer to get it done.did you use a key that was cut as a spare and doesn`t have a chip in it.this usually can cause this.also if the wires at the switch break it can activate the anti-theft system.

Rx8 2008-My battery was dead after being stored for 5 months. I did not not disconnect the battery (I know I should have). I had my battery jumped with my husband's car. As soon as I connected the cables...

You should have disconnected the battery and fully charged it before starting the car.
The low voltage may have damaged some of the electronic components in the alarm system.
Charge the battery fully, then reconnect it and see if that helps.

No power to anything - how do I reset anti-theft system? Checked battery at Wal-mart - print out says okay low on charge. Charged battery for several hours on slow charge and then fast charge. Battery...

no... no power to anything means like the headlights are inop and such

in that case its a battery or battery cable issue

assuming you have headlights and power to accessories and the vehicle still will not start AND the theft light is flashing then YES your anti-theft system is trying to keep the car from what it thinks is a theft issue

simply pressing the unlock button on your remotes will resolve this

assuming you do not have the remotes then you will need the anti-theft computers reprogrammed at a dealer or good garage

Dont know how to reset or bypass gm theft system car is not starting .It tries and quits.

this is one way to reset it :
first make sure the battery is fully charged , then do the following:
key in the ignition but do not crank the motor, just leave it at the
ignition mode for ten minutes ,then turn it off POSITION for 5 seconds then REPEAT again 2 more times. at the 3 rd time youre gonna notice the ANTI THEFT light on dash to blink. when doing the last step , remove key , inserted again and turn on motor , good luck , AJ
