Ch. Best not to jump to conclusions, if the engine light is on, there is a trouble code which will probably tell why the vehicle stalled. Take vehicle into a good shop, have scanned for trouble codes, diagnosed and estimate for repair.

Check for applicable trouble codes. How long since a tune-up?

try disconecting battery to reset computer ,if does not change go to auto parts store and have them check computer for codes, this should narrow down problem

If you had the repairs done at a dealership, take it back. We used to see "comebacks" once in a while, the mechanic has to fix it for free by state law. If you take it back three times in California, which has a "lemon law", they must give you the money back for the car or replace it with "like kind".

Its either a faulty EGR valve or it has carbon build up inside.Take valve off and clean carbon out using a non-chrlonated brake cleaner and wire brush.

A dollar on the exhaust? what is this? Isn't this still under warrantee?
You need to see if the basics are good, do a compression test. This will test the rings. See if all of your cylinders have spark, and are all plugs burning a good tan color. If not, you might have an injector issue. So, start with the basics.

it's telling you to go get your engine checked. the diagnostic codes are stored on the computer so bring it to a mechanic and have them "check engine"
