You need to check the connection at the window motor and also see if it gets power when operating the switch, please be careful around the regulator and motor when doing this.

Why won'tdrivers side power window wont go up or down 2005 subaru forister

The usual reason is the window motor bushes have worn out. Look on Amazon for a new Window Regulator kit that includes the window motor. This is FAR easier to install than pulling the kit out to replace the motor. I did this job on my 2005 recently, and it was necessary to cut up the regulator frame (messy job) to get the window glass out. This is NOT an issue if the glass is already up. If its stuck down, the cut-up job is required. If this job sounds beyond your mechanical skills, take it to a garage. The job takes about 3 hours.

2001 montana passenger window wont go up cam i apply power to wire to at least get the window to go back up

You can certainly try.

With the switch unplugged on the passenger front door you can use a jumper wire from the yellow wire (power supply to the switch) and the dark blue wire. Then ground the brown wire. The window should go up. If it doesn't check power on the yellow wire. If there is no power try running a wire directly from the battery.

If it still doesn't go up the window motor may be bad. You can try tapping it with a screw driver and see if it goes up.

It is also possible that the window regulator is broken. If that the case than there is nothing you can do besides mechanically remove the window from the regulator and tape the window in the closed position until the regulator can be replaced.

My passenger window on my 2002 Honda Accord stopped working at first I thought it was just off track because it would make a weird tapping kind of noise when I tried to use the power window button to get...

hi, it sounds like you are hearing the window motor working to turn a broken window regulator. the window regulator on your vehicle is a wire guided wheel moving two track guides up and down, affixed to the window itself. the center of the unit contains wire wrapped around a plastic roller, the most common problem is, the plastic is worn out by the metal wire and it cracks, breaks, and the wires come loose causing the window to fall. you will need to have your window regulator replaced. it's not hard for the mechanically inclined to tackle this job, but if you are not, do not attempt this repair, take it to a shop. one thing i want to tell you, from my experience as a automotive technician, i find that the aftermarket window parts(regulator, switch, motor, etc.) are inferior to factory parts from a dealer. i would recommend replacing the regulator with only factory honda parts, but you don't have to take to honda dealer to do the work.

The drivers side window stoped working on my 2004 silverado the passenger side works fine

Try the fuse. The switch may be faulty so check by removing the inner door panel and connecting a 12v battery via two wires to the motor that winds the window up and down. If it goes up and down it's probably the switch which may just need a clean on the terminals.

Passenger Window Problem

On the passenger door, look for a broken wire in the door opening.

So you found power on one of the two wires. That was with holding the switch in one position, either up or down, right? Try it again, now hold the switch in the opposite position as before, now the other wire that had no power the first time should now have power. If not, probably a break in the wiring, look in the door jamb. If not a broken wire in the passenger door, it could be in the driver's door.

You see, the power is reversible to the window motors. When power goes down one wire to the motor, the other wire serves as a ground. The ground path goes back to the driver's master switch, where the ground for all the windows originate. Ground wire from master switch carries power to ground somewhere inside the cabin. Since other windows work, your ground is good. but the pass. window is, or seems to be missing a wire. Check by looking for power on both wires, but the window switch has to be opposite from the first time for the second wire to have power. Only if both show power is the wiring good, but they wont both show power at the same time-the switch has to be in right position to show power.
I hope this is clear, post back if you don't understand.

Oh yes, use the ohmmeter function of your multi-meter to check the wires' integrity. Just don't have any power on any of the wires you are checking, but check between the pass. door and the driver's master. Check both wires that go to the passenger window. That should tell you if you have a break in the wiring.
