SOURCE: replaced cracked radiator in 2000 Chrysler LHS but car still overheating. What could be the problem?

fix the radiator first.because coolant temperature sensor need to be in antifreeze.when antifreeze get up to 190 degrees. the coolant sensor act as a thermostat.it resistance decrease then the pcm will command cooling fans to run.if antifreeze low the coolant temperature sensor not going to work. engine is going to over heat.

SOURCE: 1997 Chrysler LHS is overheating

If when you replaced coolant you noticed taht it fills slowly, the radiator could be internally blocked. Usually it can be flushed or if really bad, replace it. Also have the radiator checked for hydrocarbons...any in there tells you that there is a head gasket problem.

SOURCE: 2005 chrysler 300c 5.7l v8 hemi.........over heating

The fans are turned on by the PCM, if the PCM is not telling the fans to turn on, they won't even if everything tests fine.

odds are your fan relay is out. I take your model has two fans with seperate eletric motors.

Cooling fans wont come on . relays replaced fuses good,, and coolant tempature sensor replaced also. fans work when straight wired.

Check at relay socket for fan command signal while engine is running and hot. There should be 2 hot terminals in the socket. If not, your computer (PCM) is not turning the fan on.

Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6022358-relay_check for how to check the command signal and let me know if you have questions.

You also want to make sure that the ground wire for the fans is secured tightly to the fan framework.

97 chrysler lhs radiator fans don't come on

first check the relays in the power distribution box under the hood (simply swap the relay with another one in the box and bring the car up to normal running temp. and then turn the a/c on and if still does not come on then the motor is probably bad on the fan)
