Yea.. check the fuse first. secondly most possible cause is the wire behind the panel located on left foot wall of driver side. remove the that panel check for broken or connector connection and wire going in connector. push it in and try the switch with door unlock or key on on position. could be stuck also. try to open it(flat screw driver) while someone use the switch

Code 0455 on 2005 vw passat

That would most likely be caused by the gas cap not being tight, the gas cap being worn, or an evap problem with your fuel system.

My MIL light came on in my 2005 VW Passat. I cheecked the gas cap first. I unscrewed and then screwed it back to make sure it was tight. Since the light didn't go out I went to Auto zone. They said it was...

they just guessed it was a gas cap. gets expensive when you play the guessing game. They are not suppose to sell parts based on codes. Parts stores have been warned against this. It could take up to a month to turn the light off on some cars. If the problem doesnt clear up then you may have another code come up but since the light is on already you wont know it

Hi

If my memory serves me right, the solenoid which pulls the cable to open the gas cap door is in the trunk on the side wall. Just gain access to it and then operate the plunger by hand. If you have one of those net storage bins fitted then you may need to remove that first as it could be behind it.

If you want to diagnose the problem, you need a volt meter to trace if, and where the voltage is missing.

Very best regards

Geordie
