What does no code mean? (no code see where and on WHAT)
no year car posts are no good. 03- 11 are choices.
USA or Canada????

any modern OBD2 tool works
if car is newer than say 2004, use modern scan tool
if car is newer that 2007 , even newer tools are need.
if car is newer and the FREE autozone tool is blind then its junk.
may store run the wrong old tools that are near useless on newer cars.

here is a good tool.
if serios DIY.
get a serious tool (newer cars)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001QIUGVI/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

if car is old say so, as most , can use $9 tool or $20
no year, no joy, just general answers.

what year, element
which engine
2.4 L I4: K24A4 2003-2006, K24A8 2007+
and what country,
use a modern scan tool post 2004 tool for sure.
go to real shop with real tools. not old scan tools.

if the CEL glows. scan it.
all cars, 1988 to now (usa)
all cars ,1996 era old tools work. great. (N/A here)
all cars 2004 and for sure 2008 needs a modern CAN-bus scan tool. Some cars went to CAN-BUS early, YMMV.
sometimes the old wrong scan tool will see old P0 federal
scan codes, but will miss all the important new scan DTCs.
OBD2 evolved fast, you must track this or fail.

2010 Honda Element. What are the symptoms of the car if the catalytic converter is going bad?

Question edited for clarity and spelling of 'catalytic'. No Cadillacs involved. :>)

Your neighbour is confused. Catalytic only go bad when they get blocked. As they start to get blocked up, you get the Engine malfunction light light up with a code and it happens gradually.

The back of the engine would be cool until it heats up.

Check for codes with a scan tool.

and no acceleration

The most common causes for slow acceleration in Honda Element are clogged air filter, dirty mass air flow sensor (MAF), clogged fuel filter, fuel pump malfunction, faulty oxygen sensor, dirty throttle body, worn spark plugs and clogged catalytic converter.

I have a problem with my 2005 honda element at 3000 RPMS it starts stuttering and the check engine light was on and I tested for a code and it started with p11__ I don't remember the last 2 but I need to...

Very likely some routine maintenance is needed and best practice is to ensure all is up to date and correctly carried out before clearing the code and road testing again to see if the fault is repeated.

If the code returns it will then be time for another code read and some more serious fault-finding.

Honda element check engine light on multiple times. dealer turns off, but keeps coming back

The dealer should not simply reset the check engine light without informing you as to the reason it is coming on. The hadheld diagnostic tool should be plugged in to your cars unit and the code deciphered - it could be a simple matter such as the gas pressure valve system in the fuel tank or something more sinister or expensive if you leave it - I am astonished that they simply reset it - go to another dealer and ask them or your local garage as the diagnostic tool is not dealer specific - anyone can buy them.

Maintenance Codes:

A - Replace just engine oil
B - Replace engine oil & filter

1. Rotate tires & check air pressure
2. Replace air cleaner element, check drive belt and replace dust & pollen filter
3. Replace Transmission fluid & transfer fluid (if equipped)
4. Replace spark plugs, timing belt, inspect water pump, valve adjustment
5. Replace engine coolant

If you have a B14, it's B, 1, 4 as in the list

My Honda Element 2008 has a VSA Warning light and

It may be as simple as your oil condition or oil level. If you have poor oil in your engine the VTEC system will not operate properly and when RPMs reach 2800 or so it will buck. If everything checks okay with the oil have the code checked for your check engine light/VSA light.
