To change the low beam headlight on the 2001 Lesabre, the headlight assembly must first be removed from the car. It is really quite simple to do. There are two bolts on the top of the assembly that must be removed - that is all! The entire assembly comes out and gives easy access to the low beam bulb. Give it a 1/4 counterclockwise turn to remove it. Plus in the new one (#9006) and reverse the procedure.
SOURCE: MY 2001 Buick Century's tail brake lights are not working
Your brake light switch, which is located on the brake pedal, has malfunctioned. If you replace that your pedals will go back to working. When they go bad one or more brake lights will not work when the brake pedal is pressed but will work all other times. The reason is because the light doesn't "know" that the pedal is being pressed because it isn't getting the signal from the switch. Let me know if you have any further questions.
