Hi guys. I'm driving a '96 Hyundai Accent with 1.5l engine.. When I start it in the morning, it's powerful like a new engine but loses his power like 30 seconds after I started it and I have to push the fuel almost to the floor everytime I make a stop..
Also the transmition (automatic 3 gears + overdrive).. When I reverse to get out of the parking in the morning, everything is ok. When I put it in drive, in falls in neutral like 2 seconds after I put it in drive and I have to manually shift it to Low (1) and manually shift it for like 5 minutes until it's good.. Thanks in advance :)
Daniel
Hi I have big problem on my Hyundai accent 96 1.5i it's start and go but we'll I'm driving it's losing power
Sometimes loss of power can be caused by a clogged catalytic converter which can make the car at times hesitate, and about the trasmission maybe the governor on it might be faulty what that does it changes the gears when it reaches certain speed
The engine losing power, check your coolant level, if it is extremely low the temp gauge will not show the engine is actually hot. The tranny sounds like you have a filter that is clogged, tranny fluid thins when it gets warm and will past thru a filter that is clogged, but in the morning the fluid is thicker and will not flow thru the filter without manually shifting it

Hi jman thanks for the QUICK reply :)
The catalytic is empty lol they remove what is inside before we bought it because it was causing problems..
About the transmission, when it falls in neutral and I put it manually in Low (1), in goes in the first gear then when I manually switch it to the 2nd gear it jump in the second gear like BAM (sorry I'm french :() it doesn't even change of gears smootlhy.. After like 5 minutes everything is OK.. (with the engine that lost power)

When the engine is losing power it's only like 30 seconds after I started it.. It's still cold at that time.. Or should I say, not cold but but hot :P
