SOURCE: how to check transmission fluid on 2001 isuzu rodeo
There is no dipstick on your auto trans. Checking it is a real PITA The trans pan has 2 plugs in it. The one on the very bottom is the drain. The one in the corner, up higher in a recess is the check/fill plug. To check, the engine must be warm and running, tranny in P. Remove the plug and fluid should dribble out. If it doesn't it's low, fill until it dribbles out, while engine is running. Obviously the truck must be on a lift or up on jackstands.

Could be your neutral safety switch, or it's not all the way in park. Broken or loose wires in the starting circuit. Inspect all wires and connectors at the battery, starter solenoid, and ignition switch. Or your starter pinion is jammed in the ring gear. Remove starter and inspect. Last but not least, your engine is seized. You don't want that one. Good luck.

it's probably a fuel injection problem. the seals wear or get some little bit of junk in seal surface and are unable to completely close. it's not a problem as long as the engine is running, the seals let in a little more fuel and the computer adjusts for it. after you shut it off the leaky seals let the fuel into the cylinders and then if you try to start it up it is for all intents and purposes a flooded engine. if you don't try to start it again for a good while the fuel that leaked into the cylinders evaporates or runs down into your oil pan. anyway, it's not there and so your engine is not flooded and it starts like it's supposed to. obviously i haven't looked at your vehicle and that's just a guess but it's based on vehicles i have seen. hope that helps
