Trasmition mitsubishi galant 94 - 1994 Mitsubishi Galant

If I recall correctly, the '94 2.4L does not have a crankshaft sensor. The timing is handled by
a) correct alignment of the timing belt; and
b) the camshaft sensor on the end of the engine, above the gearbox.

I have no experience of the V6 models.

These are the same bolt patterns, bolt pattern is 4 X 4.5 or also known as 4 X 114MM. Measure 2 lugholes across from each other and it should measure 4 1/2" US or 114MM. the center hubs may be smaller/larger. Check the center hub size before purchasing:

Here's how to replace timing belt and set timing marks.

Sorry here but repair a lot of different makes and marques here so dont quote and iam not a dealer fitter so i would look on the cam gears on the front of the engine and if no sign then i would look along the rocker cover .although if a 94 model it may not have one

"turning over" and "cranking" are the same thing. Check for spark to the plugs and make sure there is fuel getting into the engine. You might save money having it professionally diagnosed rather than just throwing parts into it.

when you get the covers out. the camshafts have timming marks between tha two gears with arrows set at 45degrees between each set of gears the crankshaft has a slot mark which is about 35 deg off north

Are you in USA? I ask because the 94 Galant in the USA came with a 2.4l engine

stop burning up your engines. cars shouldn't use any oil, it is either being burnt, which is not good, or leaking onto the ground, which means you'll have no problem finding the problem, it is right above the puddle in your driveway
