I'm looking for the turn signal flasher unit on a 1993 Buick LeSabre. I found the 4-way flasher which is clipped onto a support by the steering column but can't find the turn signal flasher. I bought a new flasher at the local GM dealer and a GM parts diagram shows a seperate flasher for turn signals and 4-ways but dosen't show the location where it is installed?????

The turn signal flasher is above the emergency brake petal and about 6 inches above, hid by a wiring harness. It is in a clip so pull it out and leave the wire hang to replace the new flasher. If you locate the fuse box drop it down by releasing the two metal clips left and right , the flasher will be directly above the left side of the panel.

The turn signal flasher is located behind the lefthand side of the instrument panel, left of the steering column. It is usually double yellow stripes on a silver cylinder. The GM flashers have a high failure rate. Get one from a parts store.

1990 buick lesabre turn signals don't work, hazard flashers work, bulbs are ok, running lights & brake lights work, just installed a new turn signal assembly, thought that would fix the problem, it did...

the turn signal flasher is a small canister-shaped or rectangular unit located under the dash, either in a clip adjacent to the steering column or in the convenience center which is located located under the right side of the dashboard and houses relays and other components. The fuse.faulty flasher unit a broken switch or a loose or open wire. We have eliminated the switch, I would check all fuses inside and out, you can replace the flasher with the hazard flasher as if I remember correctly they are the same shape and size, then it is just a matter with a tester light running it from the column to the sockets and finding the break. Hope this helps Tim

I have a 93 Lesabre the we can't find the flasher for the turn signals help where is it

If the lights only come on but dont flash, activate your emergency flasher with the turn signal off. Take a walk around the car and see that all 4 bulbs light up. If not replace the faulty bulb before looking to replace the turn signal flasher. The flasher unit is located under the dash on the drivers side of the vehicle. You will have to remove the panel under the dash to get at it.

Where is the flasher unit for the turn signals on a 1993 buick lesabre

Hello, I feel that the answers I've come across on the internet are somewhat misleading. The actual placement of the turning blinker flasher unit is directly above the fuse box (Do not get confused with the rather large silver cylinder directly to the left of the steering column, as other explanations indicate I got confused and tried taking this part out.) The Turning signal Flasher Unit is actually way way up above the fuse box and is easier to see if you pull the fuse box down as if you were going to check on a fuse. The Turning signal Flasher Unit looks like a small silver cylinder that’s about 1 1/2 inches in Diameter and about 1 1/1/4 inch tall. It is connect by a metal clip (Metal clip helps to amplify the ticker sound). If you cannot find where exactly it is, turn the blinker on to the side that works and feel for the vibration from the ticking sound and follow it until you can feel it from the proper cylinder (Both turning lights work off of the same cylinder). You can literally pull the cylinder down to bring it down and replace the part (I got the part from AutoZone for $7.99, electrical version, not the electro-mechanical...which they had plenty in stock as it is a generic part). Once you have the part down as far as it will go (do not yank to hard) then pry the "V" shaped prong away from the connector (This can be difficult, and may need pliers...make sure not to grip too hard). Then just plug in the new Flasher Unit. The hard part is getting the Flasher unit to clip back onto the metal area that it was originally attached too, so I just shoved it back up as I feel it is loud enough. If you choose to reattach it, I've heard that you will have to take apart your dash to reattach (In my opinion the costs way out way the benefit). Good Luck and I hope this explanation helps more than others. I searched everywhere looking for a good example and I could not locate one, so I decided to post this to clear up everything I learned from performing this task myself.

Can't find flasher on 1990 buick lesabre

A friend of mine restores cars and he said:

There are two different flashers.
1. The hazard lights should be found on the steering column.
2. The turn signal flashers should be found under the steering column to the left.

I think that your flasher is bad I believe that the 4-ways flasher is a seperate flasher unit it should be in the fuse box and look like the 4-way flasher , to find the flasher turn on the 4-ways and you can feel it or hear it flashing and lok for the flasher for the turn signals

Cannot locate signal unit

Look behind the panel on the right side about the height of where your kneecap rides.

I found my silver flasher tucked back and up being CLipped up out of the way. I never found my 4-ways (did Hear it!) just my 2way and only after I contorted into strange shapes with my head stuck back as far as I could get it and facing skyward with my legs trying to hang onto the back of the seats!

I hope yours will be easier to find than my 94/95 was.

I was told my 4-ways were on the left and that my 2ways were next to it -- not so! Heard the emergency near center and to left of steering column, never found! BUT, I do have all flashers NOW!!!! You'll get it tooo!
