High Beams and Fog Lights on 2004 Pontiac Grand Am do not work

There is no power at the electrical connection wire for either the High Beams or Fog Lights. Low beams are fine. Fuses are good and these are new bulbs. Inside console indicator lights also do not illuminate for either the High Beams or Fog Lights. I doubt that both console switches went bad at the time. So any ideas and or schematics, anyone? Thanks, Danny O.

You can not have High Beams on and FOG LIGHTS at the same time. The Body Control Module controls this. You may have a bad Body control Module

SOURCE: low beam headlights not working on 2004 Pontiac Montana extended

You headlight lamp have a diffuser mechanism which allows it to flip between the hight beam and low beam feature of the bulb. In fact, you high beam will function even if the low beam is not working.

I would recommend the purchase of the new headlight lamp. It would cost you you any where from $15.00 per unit to get a replacement lamp

SOURCE: no low beams bulbs are ok fuses look good

There may be a relay that operates the low beam lights, check the owners manual to see if there is a relay, you should be able to hear it go "click" if there is one.

2004 Pontiac Grand Am High Beams and Fog lights do not work

Check the relay that powers the high beam, if memory serves me the relay is shared between those two circuits. You can swap the relay with a known good relay to prove if that is the issue.

Low beam dont work

usually both lights don't go at once so it is probably the resistor on the same circuit, probably just a fuse or relay! get a wiring diagram for illumination and test the circuit with a DVOM, bet you just have a bad connection, or loose wire, bad relay.....

High beams work but low beams do not. Fuses seem to be good

Hi

I would start with the dimmer switch if you know the lights are good dimmer switches do this you will lose your high beam or you will lose your low beam when they go bad.

I want to use fog lights with high beams

hi,
you could just run a possitive wire from the back of your high beams straight to your fog lights then earth the fog lights stright to the car. this will work just make shure you disconnect your battery before playing with the wire's. if your not sure what you are doing i would recommend you take it to an authurised electrican. as for the high and low, same system but i would say it probably would over load the fuse creating more work for you.
