I just bought a 2002 Dodge Caravan, when you turn the heat on it blows cold on the drives side and in the middle, but the passangers side blows warm air, what could be wrong, I called the local Dodge Dealer and he said about 500.00 to repair, I just cant see a heater costing that much with one part and as he said install would take no time at all.

Check the passenger side mode door actuator. This is located under the dash on the passenger side. Once you find it watch the rod as you move the temp lever from hot to cold to see if it moves. If it does make sure that the rod is hooked to the door. If it doesn't the actuator is probably bad or the door is jammed.

the most probabale cause of this would be a disfunctional hear core if you replace your heater your heater will more than likley work the the way it's supposed to

generally this is caused by a "blend door " motor (actually a vacuum control) not working. I don't have a diagram on this but if you watch the motors mounted to the heater box under the dash, and operate the control, you likely will find one not moving (check all positions including a/c)

U will need to replace the pass side air temp control blend door acuator motor.
