There are hundreds of reasons the CEL may be lit. To find the fault or condition for the CEL requires connecting a scan tool to the diagnostic port of the vehicle that will communicate with the various computer modules and present a list of error codes stored in memory.
These codes merely indicate or describe the fault and are not a diagnosis as to the root cause. Further interpretation and testing of components is necessary.
Most auto parts stores will read the codes free of charge but they won't do a proper diagnosis. Don't buy parts just because a code related to that part is listed.
Code doesn't say that. You're putting your own interpretation on what the code means. It could be a bad solenoid valve, bad wiring harness or plugged vent hose
The 5 flashes sounds like a fault code. This unit is a four wheeler, true? Might try posting in the correct section or perhaps call a dealer and beg code interpretation.
then scanner will show a code (po**** or p**** or a series of dots and dashes) You then have to refer these codes to a manual for interpretation of the faults. ie code on scanner p0707 . refers to TR sensor switch and a number of possible causes that will cause this code.. With out a scanner you cannot read any codes
lol
thats a new one
there is no check engine sensor.
theres lots of different sensors take tell a computer to set a code and turn on that light.
ask autozone to check the codes for you for free.
its a free service they offer.
the codes will tell you whats wrong
probably an o2 sensor.
ask them if they have it in stock.
try disconnecting the negitive battery cable these trucks had a tendency to have the abs send a false signal to the idiot light leave it disconnected for about 20 minutes if not fixed then have the obd 1 codes read at an auto parts store it could be the abs sensor on the front wheels but it was usaully just a false ground reading
