1995 Mercedes 300e. When it is raining, the interior stays dry, however, the defrost system pushes warm/hot moist air into the cabin. The windows are constantly fogging. There is no carpet moisture, nor is there the smell of antifreeze. Seems like clean rain water is being introduced into the system.

Compressed air is step 1, most often this clears the passage. I also use a solid copper ground wire and slide it through the entire run of the drain.

This "tool" is inexpensive.

Go to a hardware store and purchase a five foot length.

Use a scrap of sand paper to deburr or round off the edges.

gently slide in and out working the wire through the entire length of drain.

since it is coppe it will flex through the bends and break up any clogs.

If I hit a more stubborn clog I rotate the wire gently to break it up.

Do not force it work slowly and the clog will release.

Your library may have the diagram. Does any speed work? If it runs on full, there is a resistor pack in the fan housing that can be changed. This unit may also have multiple fuses controlling it. Merc has a habit of building the most difficult cars in the world to trouble shoot. Good luck, sir.

Good morning;
does this critter have a radiator fill w/cap? I've run accross som large Sotrd trucks that don't.
Well, anyway, it soesn't make sense you would need to fill the radiator via the resenoir. That is only good for short pressure relief and cook down vacuum recovery of coolant. 60/40 is the mix ratio. If it hs a resevoir it should have a radiator cap.The air in system will purge itself as it starts to circulatte cioolant. turn heater off till your system is full, then on when engine reaches operating temp. then if needed top iff coolant. Leave radiator cap off while waiting for coolant to start circulating. When thermostat opens out comes the air. Then put coolant mix in reservoir to fill line. check for leaks and all hose clamps are tight and you should be set, Good luck - Ned

That's not unusual if you have a lot of people in the car. I will fog up because the glass is colder then the warm moist air hitting it, so the water condenses on the glass. Two ways to solve this issue. First open the windows a small amount to get rid of the warm air and introduce some cold air. OR second, set your defroster from full hot to slightly on the cool side with air circulation from the outside as well (i.e blend air as opposed to only cabin air)..

Aveo 09 started idling at 800rpm on first startup after oil change, usually 1000rpm at startup

Not likely. 20W-50 is usually used in high rpm engines in warm to hot climate. By any chance is your windshield defroster on? When the defroster is blowing your air conditioner compressor is engaged which pulls the moisture out of the air so you get HOT DRY air blowing on the interior of your windshield

Windows fog up

There is too much moisture inside the cabin. Either something is leaking water into the car, or your fresh air setting is not working on the hvac system. You can not run the system on recirculate and get rid of the moisture.

to clear the interior of fog you must put the fan on recirc and #3 fan position.with the a/c on HOT.it will clear as soon as any heat from the engine is allowed to the heater matrix to dry out the interior.if you allow fresh air into the car with fogged up glass, they will get worse as the temp is warmer inside the car than out.(they collect condensation).

Will not defrost , interior is humid(has heat), but when car shuts off interior windows freeze and must scrap ice off inside glass to see. problem is accumulative....more we drive the worse it gets

Could a symptom of 3 or more problems: (1) Sounds like you have got the cabin air intake set to "recirculate" air from within the cabin. Once the car is warmed up in cold weather you need to move the cabin air intake control so that it draws air in from outside the vehicle. Having the air intake set to "recirculate" with the windows closed means that the occupants' breath causes the windows to mist up - this gets worse the longer the car is driven, and this is exactly the problem you're experiencing. (2) If, however, the air intake is actually set correctly, then the air vents would appear to be blocked, either with debris such as leaves, or snow or ice (this would have the same effect as having the heating controls set to recirculate cabin air. (3) There is a possibility that the cabin air filter (if one is fitted) is blocked - replacement or removal should solve the problem.

All the blend doors and vents are controlled by vauum. If you look in the rear firewall behind the brake master cylinder you will see a vacuum check valve with lines entering the cabin of the vehicle. The yellow colored ones are for your central locking, the green for a/c system, and red for your heater/water valve, clear for your source. Try isolating your vac. systems by unplugging lines and capping them off. Any leak in either system can adversly affect another system. So isolate your leak and then you will have to test your actuaters in the leaky system. If you unplug the red line and cap it off-the water will stop entering your heater core.
