You may have damaged the transmission, have a local shop diagnose it.

SOURCE: cv joint replacement

Remove the tire and tighten 2 lugnuts onto the brake rotor. remove the axle nut in center of the brake rotor and drive the axle out of the spindle. If the ball joint is original, you have to grind out the rivets on the lower control arm. Remove and replace the ball joint with the hardware included with the ball joint. Next, pry-unsnap the axle end from the transaxle with a prybay and drive-snap in the new axle shaft into the transaxle. reverse to assemle, align front end and wholla! your done. 1 hour,15 min. $115.00 to do it yourself.

SOURCE: On my oldsmobile aurora, I have a problem turning

More than likely your rack and pinion has gone bad. If the pump was bad it wouldn't work to either side. But the rack and pinion can go bad on just one side

Testimonial: "How difficult is it to replace it? Would I need to replace both sides or just one? And it sounds as if it whines somewhere on the left side up by the tire. What would that be?"

How to check ford freestar cv joints

From what I have heard, if you turn the car sharp right or left, whatever side makes a loud clicking noise, that will be the side that the CV joints have or are failing. Apparently, its good practise to change both at the same time and get a wheel alignment done.

Why is my 1994 mercury sable making a clicking noise when I step on the gas

the clicking noise? is it a pop and crack while turning the steering wheel from left to right while the vehicles moving?if so,you may have a bad cv joint in one of your axles.depending on which side its coming from, tells you which cv joint is bad.drivers side front?pop and crack? it's bad.passengers side, pop and crack while turning the steering wheel left to right? bad cv joint. in this case, you will need an axle replacement on the side where the pop and cracks coming from. thank you for choosing fixya.com and if this does not assist you, please feel free to repost your questions to fixya.com!

The driver side wheel has a popping noise when i turn the wheel to the left

Usually the CV Joint pops when worn making turns so check that out. The bad one will pop when only putting a load on it. Here an example, say the left side is bad and you make a right turn. It will not make the popping noise only unless both sides are bad

Heard loud clunk while driving, now it wont move in any grear?

Your CV joint may have failed and and will need to be replaced. Inspect the left and right CV joints for any signs of damage. Cv joints are the left and right axle from the transmission to the left and right front wheels.

I am not sure if the wheel bearing on the front end is broke. it makes a loud poping noise when turning and the wheel is towed in

Loud popping/grinding most noticeably heard when turning is normally a sign of a bad CV joint. Look under the van where the axle half-shafts come out of the transaxle and connect to the backside of the wheel assembly. Are the rubber boots on the axles torn or missing?
If you hear the popping only in left turns, your right CV joint is bad, If you hear the popping only in right turns, your left CV joint is bad.
