Well first off when you change a battery you should use a memory saver so that things will not reset or clear themselves, BUT NOW ON TO THE GOOD NEWS, TO RESET THE ALARM, IF IT IS AN AFTER MARKET OR EVEN INSTALLED AT THE FACTORY ALARM, JUST LOOK UNDER THE DASH ON THE DRIVERSIDE, YOU SHOULD SEE A SMALL BUTTON PLACED IN AN OUT OF THE WAY SPOT, THAT IS THE VALET SWITCH, WITH THE ALARM GOING OFF, PRESS THE BUTTON AND HOLD IT IN, THEN TURN THE KEY, THAT SHOULD RESET THE ALARM BACK SO YOU CAN START IT BEING MOST ALARMS HAVE STARTER DISABLERS, AFTER YOU START IT UP SHUT IT OFF, IF YOU SEE THE LIGHT BLINKING FOR THE ALARM, YOU WILL NEED TO PRESS THE VALET SWITCH AGAIN IT SHOULD SHUT THE LIGHT OFF, IF IT STILL WILL NOT START, THEN YOUR ONLY OPTION IS TO TRACE THE STARTER LINES TILL YOU FIND WHERE THEY SPLICED INTO IT FOR THE ALARM AND DISCONECT IT THERE, THEN INSTALL A NEW STARTER, BUT THAT IS ALWAYS THE LAST RESORT. HOPE THIS HELPS....

Hello. If you have a FACTORY alarm system, the deactivte prodedure is to cycle the key off-on (not to start) 5 times, in the ignition. This feature is provided in case you lose the remote, or the remote battery goes dead.

Note: this will only work with the Factory system. If you have an aftermarket system, this answer will no benefit you.

Alarm system keeps going off. Can not start the car

possible that the battery is almost flat and when you turn the key the current is almost nil and so the alarm goes off as if the car is being stolen. have a load test done on the battery. clean battery terminals and posts to shiny clean and make sure that they are tight.

Car alarm goes off when I use the key to open doors or start engine on my 2006 GMC Envoy. Problem started when I installed new battery.

Not familiar with the envoy, but most all GMC trucks have a alarm reset button under the dash by the steering column to reset after battery problems. Why did you change the battery? It may also be your starter has shorted out which will set off the alarm. Good Luck

Mitsubishi Magna GLX 1993 jumpstarting sets off alarm!

Is the alarm factory fitted, cheap, or a top of the range.
the factory alarm you can pull the cable of the horn untill you get the car started.
there are some alarms that go off when there is a voltage change, and some will keep going for a couple of minutes if the battery is dead flat untill there is power to equilze the power abit,
and some alarms have a key over ride in the siren.
if its a cheap alarm take the battery of and charge it,(the alarm will cut out as soon as the battery is disconnected.
~dont jump start from a dead flat battery, as it can cause a lot more problems with the electrics, leave another car running with the jump leads on for at least 5 min first.~
