How many quarts of oil do i put in the 1.6L B6-D DOHC 16 Valve

Refill is 3.3 Litres or 3.5 US quarts. Use a good quality oil, synthetic even.

Have the engine steam cleaned of all oil, put a special dye in the oil (drive the car at least 10 miles) and use a Black light to id the source of the leak.

How long did you drive without oil? Sounds like engine damage has occurred.

put in 3.5 quarts of oil and before you start the car check the oil level on the dip stick.it should be about half a quart above the full line on the dip stick(upper line) i assume you are changing your own oil and filter.start car let it run a little while shut car off let it stand and recheck oil level.it should be at the full mark.if low put in rest of the last quart of oil.recheck.most cars hold 4 quarts.

the last time I changed the oil in a manual tranny that is all I had to do, the level in mine was determined by putting an 1/8 bend in a piece of wire, add oil then check to see if you can touch the oil with the wire, when it does it is full enough.

start with 4 quarts and then check it

we have the same car, i would have a mechanic check the ECU. thats the first step in finding out what is wrong and why its burning so mutch fuel. it could also be your air filter, but then agian, you wouldnt be burning a tank of gas a day. well hope you get it fixed.
