Sounds like a rectifier malfunction, or wiring short.

SOURCE: battery removal

The battery is located under the right front fender behind the tire. Remove the wheel, remove access panel from fender well. From engine compartment, remove 2 battery hold down bolts,10mm, slide battery rearward to remove battery cables.

SOURCE: HOW DO I CHANGE THE BATTERY IN MY 2001 CHRYSLER CONCORDE?

You will need to disengage the Negative terminal (Black side) and then the Red (positive side). In addition, there might be a securing bracket with two bolts or wing nuts, loosen these and the rods can be pushed down and twist out of the bottom. Once this is done remove the battery and head to your local Auto parts store, they can help you select the correct one. re-assemble as you have taken apart. you will need to re program your stereo and reset your clock, (prior to removing terminals) make sure there are no special lock out codes for your stereo. Good luck!

Look for the inline fuse link in the red wire from the battery . It looks like something was spliced into the wire. It's the fuselink.

Eng controler fuse keeps blowing out from power distribution box every time i put neg cable on

Hi, if it is fuse A that is burning, trace the red wire from the underhood fuse box to the starter and auto shut-down relays to see if the wire is shorted to the chassis. If it is fuse B, trace the red wire with a white stripe to the other relays.

Is there a fuse/fusible link to alternator,

The wiring burning up at the altenator most likely caused the diode inside the altenator to short out. I would just replace the altenator now.
