06 Corolla Pressure Control Solenoid D Electrical Fault

My check engine light came on so I took my car to Auto Parts for one of their free error readings. I recieved this error from the reading "BB Pressure Control Solenoid D Electrical Fault"... The probable causes are 1- open or short circuit condition, 2- poor electrical connection, or 3- failed shift solenoid valve SLT. What can I do to fix this problem??? And how much does something like this (any of the three probable causes) typically cost to fix??

Where are these solenoids located? I was looking up a replacement and their seems to be three of these solenoids on this car somewhere.

There is only one SLT solenoid, the other three are shift solenoids for the individual gears. SLT is located on top of valve body and have to take down to change toward front of car. The shift solenoids are to the rear and can be removed without removing the valve body. on 2006 corolla ce 1.8l

There is a technical service bulletin to correct this condition. Replacement of the car's Electronic Control Unit (the computer) will cure this. Take it to a Toyota dealer and have them replace it for free.

Sorry, incorrect. Replaced internal harness, slt solenoid, and ECU. did not correct problem. There has to be something else. All of these electronics don't belong on cars. they cause more problems than solve; especially in transmissions. They are unnecessary there. Emissions I understand but transmissions have absolutely nothing to do with emissions monitors and don't need electronics. Those should have stayed strictly mechanical. Less issues and performed much better.

Reduce engine power light comes on 2005 buick lacross

The check engine light n or reduced power light comes on when the on-board computer detects a fault in engine driveability or performance, transmission control system or transmission, or the emissions system, and a fault code is set and stored in the computer. Faults that can set the check engine light can range from a vaccuum leak, engine mis-fire, low engine compression, faulty sensor such as O2 sensor or other engine sensor, hydraulic pressure loss in transmission, transmission shift solenoid, open/short in wiring harness, emission evaporative system leak, or one of over a hundred different reasons. The only way to know what set a fault code and turned the check engine light on is to have a diagnostic scanner hooked up to the on-board computer and read it for stored diagnostic fault codes. Many auto parts stores will do this service for free- (like auto zone)check with you local parts stores. If none in your area do, then you will have to take it to a shop and pay to have the computer read for stored fault codes. Without knowing the fault codes numbers, it would be irresponsible to guess as to the cause as there are hundreds of possible causes.

Code P2717 Pressure control solenoid on Corolla 06 LE

If I'm not mistaken this is an circuit fault code, so you need to check the integrity of the electrical circuit to the solenoid (look for rodent damage on the wiring harness that runs over top of the transmission). Check the resistance of the solenoid itself (poss bad solenoid). It could also be a faulty PCM (computer) If all input tests come back normal and there are no PCM software updates available. Due to the system complexity, I recommend having a qualified repair shop diagnose this concern. -hope this helps

Pressure Control Solenoid D electrical fault (P2716)

There is a Bulletin on this concern, and it is a warrantable condition for 8 years or 80,000 miles so you are still covered by the factory warranty.
The problem is a logic issue in the PCM. The correction is a new PCM with updated software.
