Check under hood in fuse/relay box for fuel pump relay. They should be labeled on top or underside of cover.

Appears there is a little mix up on these vehicles, as some sources say under center console, or behind glove box, & others say it's controlled by the computer, which has been known to be troublesome as they were built for Mitsubishi by another company. Why is my truck acting like it has a dead battery when I try to start it

There could be several reasons why your truck is acting like it has a dead battery when you try to start it. Here are a few common possibilities:

1. Dead battery: The most common cause of a vehicle not starting is a dead battery. If your battery is old or has been drained of its charge, it may not have enough power to start the engine. You can try jump-starting the vehicle or replacing the battery if it is too old.

2. Bad starter: A bad starter is another common reason why a vehicle may not start. The starter is responsible for turning the engine over when you turn the key. If the starter is failing, it may not be able to turn the engine over, causing the vehicle not to start.

3. Faulty alternator: The alternator is responsible for charging the battery while the engine is running. If the alternator is failing, it may not be able to charge the battery properly, causing the battery to drain and the vehicle not to start.

4. Ignition switch problem: The ignition switch is responsible for sending power to the starter when you turn the key. If the ignition switch is faulty, it may not send power to the starter, causing the vehicle not to start.

5. Fuel system issues: If the fuel pump or fuel injectors are not working properly, the engine may not be getting the fuel it needs to start.

It's best to have a professional mechanic diagnose the issue to determine the exact cause of the problem and provide an appropriate solution.

If the vehicle is equipped with a timing belt, make sure it hasn't jumped throwing the valve timing off.

I have olds intrigue '98. Always ran great.

If you are saying it starts and then dies, have you checked fuel pressure again ? Could be the fuel pump relay.

What's your problem?Hi I have a 90 convertible mustang 5.0. My problem is the fuel pump wont shut off when you turn key on. It runs and runs and car wont start. Ive checked all injectors, changed

Dear Charlie,
May I suggest you take the car to a good (old?) mechanic and have it "changed?".
Right now the fuel pump is hooked to the battery directly, which is why the pump will not turn off.
Please have him hook the pump up so it only runs when the ignition is on.
God bless your efforts.

I have an 86 ford ranger 4x4 with a 2.9 v6 my problem started when i went to the store came out and my fuel pump wouldnt work after i turned the key on and off a few times it worked now when i went down to...

Check your battery, especially if it is older. Had same problem with 2007 Ranger.
It seems that there may be enough power in the battery to turn on daytime running lights, instrument cluster etc., and turn the engine over, but during all that, there may not be enough power left to adequately power the fuel pump.
After replacing a 9 year old battery, I had no more problems with my fuel pump (almost 1 year since battery was changed and no fuel pump issues).

2002 olds alero wont start not security problem

You will have to see if you have spark and gas first of all. When you first turn the key to "on", you should be able to hear the fuel pump cut in for just a couple of seconds. If it doesn't, check fuses and relays. If they are okay check to see if there is power at the fuel pump. If there is, you need to change the fuel pump.
Get a timing light and hook it to any spark plug wire, and see if you have spark. If you don't, first, i would check the timing belt. If it's okay, try changing the ignition coil pack.
Let me know how you make out when you get that far.
