Bought a new fuel pump for my 1998 gmc sierra and the connector from the old fuel pump is two connectors one 3 prong flat and one 4 prong square and the new pump has the same flat 3 prong connector, but it has a 4 prong flat connector instead of it being square got a pigtail with new pump if i splice with new connector what wires go where

i dont believe there is a fuel cutoff switch on that yr but you might want to check the pump take it out and wire it straight to the battery for a few seconds if it doesnt kick on and stay on then return the fuel pump... if it kicks on and stays on then you might want to consider a new sending unit as well as the pump it doesnt cost that much more and then you wont have that worry later down the road

You might find the pieces of harness at a salvage yard. Also you can use wire connectors available at ant auto store. Use a good crimping tool and wrap the splices with electrical tape.

Should be a green-yellow wire from the relay to the pump. The pump is grounded thru a black wire in the harness.
The wire from the relay should be hot when the relay is engaged by the computer or if you jumper it.
