2006 Chevy Cobalt LS won't start

My cobalt is a 2006 LS and has a 6 speed manual transmission. It starts infrequently and sometimes it won't turn over. I turn the key over and it clicks once. The battery is new and the starter was replaced and checked and neither are the problem. There is no check engine light present and when it doesn't turn over the lights, stereo, and interior lights all work properly. Anyone have any ideas what this could be?

Could be a weak connection between the battery and starter, or the clutch safety switch. You would need to know how far power is getting in the starter circuit to figure it out.

Are you using the original key that came with the car? The chip in that key may have gone bad. Try using the spare key that should have come with the purchase of the car. You may also be having battery issues. If all else fails....call the people who really know how to rape you...DUM Dum dummmmm....the dealer

Ignition relay or fuse could be the problem. When you turn the key to start do you hear a fuel pump kicking on and or do you have spark when you hot wire the starter (I know it's hard to check while trying to start it)? You can email me back and I might be able to pinpoint it more.

2006 Cobalt LS Coupe Intermittent Starting Problem

sounds about right, probably is ignition switch, reason you don't get codes is because if power is'nt connecting to engine while problems occurs then ecm won't pick it up. you should have 2 ignition switches, (the lock cylinder and key switch, the other is the electrical, usually located under the dash, and commonly atttatched to the column close to the firewall, check connections first, it may just be a loose plug in connection

I've had my 2006 chevy cobalt LS since 2007 and has never had the transmission flushed.when and or should it ever be flushed?

Every vehicle should have the automatic trans fluid changes at 30,000 miles and never go over
3 years, even if the milage is less.
Also,do the power steering at the same time.
