It sounds like your Navigator has a vacuum leak after the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. This could be in the intake air tube between the MAF Sensor and the throttle body or it could be a bad vacuum line, bad/stuck EGR valve, bad DPFE sensor, or intake manifold leak. There are several ways to search for a vacuum leak, but I'm not sure this is something you realy are looking to tackle versus having an idea if a shop is being honest with you.

Very common problem is about a dime size hole wearing in the rubber elbow on the PCV valve located on the driver side rear of the intake manifold.

hi,

if its a 3.8 v6 then check the EGR valve. the egr valve will get a hole in it an cause a huge vacuumn leak, and cause that. untill you take it in you can plug the vacuumn hose that goes to the EGR valve on the intake manifold, fix it soon.

Did you check for codes & test the
battery?

You know how old the battery is ,so that
is a no brainer. They can last 2 years or 9

Do not jump a dead battery, bad thing can happen
if it is shorted internally

How did you get home?
Where is now?
At a repair shop, then they will solve the issue

Last night we came outside to see that our 2003 lincoln navigator suspesion had dropped completely. Is there a button or switch to activate this back to normal or does this mean the suspension broke ?Please...

Air suspensions on Lincolns...the bags are good for about 8 years, and this is 2011, soooo...but, there are a few things you can try. When you start it, do you hear the compressor running? If not, check the fuses and relay for the compressor, and there is a shut-off switch and reset button in the rear (check your owners manual) that may have tripped-try resetting it to see if that is all that is wrong. Is it down on all four corners, or just the front/back? All four probably is a little more involved, but if it is just one end, it is usually a damaged bag (cracks in the folds), an open soilenoid, or a timed-out compressor. If there is an air ride light on while the car is running, it is almost always an issue with the compressor itself.

I am testing driving a navigator and the battery died last night. when i open the driver door, there it beeps as if the lights are on or key in the ignition, but the lights are off and the key is not in....

Install a new battery or charge yours, if it
is able to be charged
That mostly is the cause of all your issues
Start with a fully charged battery and get
back if you have further problems

'03 Lincoln Navigator has shut down 3 times in the last few months while driving for no reason. Have to wait about 7 minutes before it will start back up. Happened on the highway also.. How do i fix this...

Spray the Throttle Plate with CRC Throttle Body Cleaner

Not better--Test the TPS Sensor and replace, only if it
fails a test

Clean the MAF Sensor with CRC MAF Cleaner

You have an electronic throttle control motor,
if the throttle plate sticks ,it goes into ETC Failsafe and shuts off
or only goes 6MPH
