I have a 1998 ford ranger xlt 2x2 and my dashboard light are half way out it is driving me krazy to see them that way please help
Please clarify:
Half of your dash lights are not working?
All your dash lights are dim?
IF all are dim, to the right of the headlight switch, there is a dimmer 'wheel' rolling up = max illumination, until it clicks to turn on enterer dome light.

U should be able to locate it by following the upper radiator hose to the engine, where the hose is clamped to a housing . The thermostat is in the housing, which is usually secured w/ 2 bolts. If this doesn't help, let me know.

Take some WD40 and open the doors and spray a liberal amount into each of the door latches. Then open and close the doors firmly several times. This will work most of the time to unstick the ajar switches.

The OD light is flashing to alert u to the fact that some kind of fault has occured in the transmission, the problem is in many cases a slipping condition, you need to have the trans control system tested for the trouble codes that are stored when this light flashes, this will let u know what the problem is and a direction to follow to repair it.

These are not very good but all I could find. The cam mark is about the 7 o'clock position. I cannot see the crankshaft marks in the side pic.
