SUSPENSION-03 pt cruiser touring

My car makes a knocking noise at the front left and right wheel area, sometimes when i ride over a speed bump or drive on a rocky road. I took my car to be inspected and they are guessing it may be the strut mounts. They put my car on a rack and said everything else looks fine. Can you help me please, do you think its the shocks? How often you should change your shocks in pt cruiser.

A banging noise when going over bumps? I'd guess the lower control arm bushings are worn. This is relatively common, and would exhibit this symptom.

I have a 2002 PT Cruiser that rides as though it has no suspension system at all, going over the smallest of bumps feels like I hit a giantic sink hole, what do you think the problem is and how do I f

The suspension system being that old probably needs some major work. Beside being a short wheel base does not help. The longer the wheel base the smoother the ride. I bought a new car a short time ago(cross-over) , did not like the ride. Bought a mini-van a year later. Much smoother ride and better gas millage.

Location speed sensor pt cruiser 03 touring car do

It sounds like the module is in limp mode. The speed sensor is most likely the cause, but it can be some other things as well. A scan will give a code stating the problem area.

The speed sensors are on the side of the trasmission that faces the front of the vehicle. There are 2 of them, and they are the same sensor. One is an input speed sensor located closest to the engine, the other is the output speed sensor.

Saab 93 - noisy when going over bumps on the road.

Have you tried driving over a bump whilst also applying the brakes? (Right foot on gas, left gently on brake - with no one behind you!) If the noise goes away, then it could be the brake pads that are not fitted correctly. Only posting this, as this just happened to mine...the mechanic took it over bumps and noise was there. Applied brakes whilst going over bump, noise went away. Replaced badly fitted rear pads (had been bodged by another garage) and the problem was solved.
