Which fuse.
i can tell you :
1: its big short, and this saved you a nice fire.
2: or someone pulled the alternator and not disconnect the battery.

each fuse has a name and a number,
the lid of the box , shows the names.
each as an amperage rating, this too, give a huge clue as to which one it is.
alldata.com , look your self.
or post name.

What could it be when put auto in drive suddenly fuse blows under hood?

Which fuse is blowing? Look at a wiring diagram for that fuse circuit. If that fuse only controls one component, the component may be faulty or the wiring circuit has a problem.

If the fuse circuit controls several components, you may need to disconnect/reconnect components one at a time to try and see which component or wiring circuit is faulty. Hopefully when you unplug the faulty component, the fuse will no longer blow. It is possible that test would not be conclusive because every time you unplug something you lower the amp draw on the fuse.

On 2005 mustang keeps blowing fuse 47 in fuse box under hood I have checked every thing it can find

that fuse could be burning out because of the oxygen sensors. Change them out. See if that takes care of the issue. If not then on the under hood fuse block unhook the black and white connections. Try the a/c again. If it does not blow the fuse, hook one of those back up and see, If they both blow the fuse. trace the red and yellow wire to check for shorts.

1997 Cherokee fuses under hood

No diagrams? I'm working on a '95 cherokee, the cover on the box has a complete diagram on the underside. On the '95, there are 10 maxi-fuses, and 6 mini-fuses. What is the number designation of the fuse? Likely the numbers may not agree with mine, but I could try to help. By the way, if you have your owner's manual, it would show all fuse and relay descriptions and locations, both the under hood box and the under dash fuse block.

No ac nd my fan stop working completely

Fuses blow because of higher than normal amperage in the circuit. Not sure what circuit the blown fuse is for but if it is for the fan the fan may be shorted therefore blowing the fuse. If you put fuse in while the ac was still on try shutting off the ac then putting the fuse in. See if it blows then if it doesn't then turn the ac on and if it blows you have at the very least isolated the system at fault.

Keeps blowing fuel pump fuse. Why?

This normally happens due to short in the wirings.Or if someone has connected a stereo or some other electrical contrivance to the wiring harness (bundle), either under the dash or under the hood.To confirm this unplug the fuel pump wiring connections and insert new fuse. Then start the car and see,if still the fuse blows then its a short in wiring. But if the fuse does not blows then its faulty fuel pump relay or faulty fuel pump itself. So first replace the fuel pump relay and see,if the fuel still blows then its faulty fuel pump. But if the fuse not blowing then relay was the faulty part. The fuel pump relay located on the fuse box under the hood.---------This troubleshooting tips will help you locate the fault and solve it.-------Thanks.Helpmech.
