Check for interior lights at hat are on, do it at night. Common issues are lights in the sun visors, trunk and hood are also common as is console and glove box lights.

The only way really to get to this is to Pull the Door Panel and Check the Wiring and See if there is not a Relay Inside of the Door Panel. You will need some new Door Panel Fasteners to replace the ones that Break when you remove the Panel. You can get these at any Auto Parts Store and they don't Cost that much. Let me know what you Find!

RAP stands for Retained Accessory Power. It is the circuit responsible for powering accessories when the key is off. Sounds like something is staying on that shouldn't. Hard to say what though with the information here. if this started happening right after you put in the new radio i would check into that. otherwise start checking accessories like power mirrors, seats, locks and see it something is staying on that shouldnt. i good one to check would be the glove box light or the light under the hood. you can unplug them and then test your draw to see if thats where is was.

2005 Honda Accord battery keeps draining down. Why?

Hi,

it's sound like you have a bad alternator. This usually recharges your battery when it functions properly but your battery would lose power if the alternator is not working anymore. Once replaced, you shouldn't have this problem. Please check with autozone or car repair company to confirm this.

Thank you.

Battery runs down over night.

A glove box light will drain a battery over night or it could be a bad diode in your alternator. Disconnect the red wire from the alternator and check with a volt meter.

I have a 2001 rodeo Isuzu the battery gets drained loses speedometer and ac stops blowing then reduced power light comes on.what could be the problem?

For starters, it sounds like your battery can't produce enough amperage. Have it tested and replace if needed. Then see if things are better.

2004 Dodge Durango. When it set over night there is not enough charge in the battery to turn over the engine. The battery is one and half years old.

Maybe the alternator is not charging the battery up well. To test, put a voltmeter on the battery, engine running. If voltmeter is less than 13.5 volts, suspect a weak alternator-have it tested.
If charging system and alternator is good-charging between 13.5 volts and 14.5 volts, have the battery tested. Even though not old, it may have a dead cell. A parts store can load test it and see.
If battery and alternator are both good, you may have an unintended drain on the battery. You can check this by, first charging up the battery, then leave the negative terminal off the battery overnight. If it starts good next day, there may be a drain, something like a glove box light, an under hood light, a radio amp left on.
Post back if you want help with finding an unintended drain.

Something is draining my battery on my 1998 Cadillac DeVille

I suspect parasitic draw. All vehicles draw some power from the batteries when the car is shut off. Certain accessories such as clocks, radios remote door openers and alarms always need power. The normal power used is called parasitic draw.

It is always a very low draw so it doesn't run the battery down. If you install accessories like shortwave radios or plug things like inverters and portable refrigerators into the accessory socket and operate them too long without the engine running you can drain your batteries to the point where the engine won't start. If there is an electrical short in the vehicle or a malfunctioning accessory it could be drawing much more than its normal load causing a drain on the batteries. If you leave your door open and the inside lights stay on all night you could drain the battery down till the car won't start.

Here's also a good resource for your car specifically on narrowing down the cause of the drain.

Battery runs down overnight the battery is new

It is likley that there is a draw on the system draining the battery while it sits, could be a bad alternator. Try disconnecting the battery when you park the car for the night, re-connect it in the morning and see if it's ok. Then get the electrical system checked to confirn either alternator or system draw.

Peugeot 307 1.4 petrol on a 'Y' registration car does not start without jumpleads/boostpack. starter motor, alternator, and battery have been replaced, earth strap is secure and not corroded. when...

When there is excessive current drain when you try to start, then it is likely there is binding or internal shorting.
If when you stop trying to start, the 6 volts comes back up to 12, then the battery is good and it really is excessive starter draw.
I mention that because an over night drain from something staying on could also require a jump, even though there was not excessive starter draw.

But since you have a new starter, there is always the chance the engine itself is binding.
Perhaps from a bad bearing.
The way to tell is to remove the spark plugs.
See how it turns over by hand, compared to another engine.
Check oil pressure.
Look for metal flakes in the oil change or pan.

One last hope is that the starter has the wrong number of teeth, and is not a perfect fit, was not installed or aligned correctly, etc.
Or perhaps there is a bushing that is worn, like the old VW's used to have in the bellhousing.

03 clk 200 .battery is run down over night, but not every night. new front sam , new rear sam. new battery. put amp meater on no drain.

there must be somekind of amp draw or else you shouldnt be having any problems, this may sound wierd, and also may be a bit of work, try disconnecting the alternator for a night and see if your problem goes away, ive run across this a couple of times, also, seat control modules are known to cause draw problems in c and clk classes
