1995 Avalon Fan belt snapped replaced but still

1995 Avalon XLS Fan belt snapped, I replaced it but still squeels not sure if all pulleys are turning. It seems the lower pulley (below the alternator pulley) is not turning and this is causing the belt to squel and begin to burn. Is the lower pulley for the power steeing? is it supposed to turn when car is in park?

Squeeling belts toyota avalon 2006

There are several possible reasons for this. The new belt may be the wrong size or have a different number of grooves cut into the belt. Some pulleys have more or less grooves which must match the number of grooves on any grooved pulley, even if only 1 pulley has the grooves.

Mounting the belt through different paths which makes slack in the belt.

Frozen or worn Belt tensioner which fails to put adequate tension on the belt. Idler pulley bearings can be worn out and new belt is now causing bearing to show up with noise.

When routing belt, make sure grooved part turns on grooved pulley and not the smooth backside of the belt.

How to replace an engine belt for avalon V6 engine

There would be a tensioner pulley which you would move to release tension on the belt. The pulley is spring-loaded to keep the belt tight.

Squeeling after replacing all belts and the tensioner pulley?

Still sounds like the belts, not much will cause that type of noise. You can completely remove all belts and start engine to see if noise is still there, no harm to engine to run it for a minute or two with no belts. You will know for sure then.

My 1998 Toyota Avalon XLS squeals loadly when I start the engine and the fan is on in the car. I turn of the fan and it stops. After driving I turn the fan back on and don't get the squeal anym

Almost certainly one or more of the drive belts (not the timing belt) on the engine needs an increase in tension. It may tell you about this in the owner's handbook.

If not you can either ask a mechanic to do this straightforward job for you, or try it yourself. You can download a zipped service manual from here

http://www.freeautorepairmanual.org/free-download-toyota-avalon-service-manual.html

and look these belts up in the charging section and steering section.

Fan belt snapped on my renault express diesel changed that but now it now it turns over but wont fire up

check the belt is on correctly if it is it will be tight and around all pulleys, make sure around fuel pump pulley. Also ask yourself why belt snapped in first place was it old/cracked and due to break or did a pulley sieze and cause belt to squeel and burn then snap.

I have a 2001 Sonata. I have a squeeling pulley.

It sounds like you have a worn or streched belt making the sqeeling noise. Whenever you turn on a
device in the car that draws a fair amount of voltage
ie. a/c or headlights it will cause increased drag on
the alternator and if you have a loose/worn or glazed
belt, it can slip around the pully making the squeel.
To adjust the alt-a/c belt loosen the mounting bolts
on the tensioner, then use the adjuster bolt behind
the tensioner pully to loosen and tighten the belt.
Be sure to check the belt for cracks bald spots etc.
While the belt is loose spin the pullys to make sure
they all spin freely. Also I would replace the belt just
to be sure. Hope this helps

2000 Avalon XLS - Humming -

Most likely is a wheel bearing needing replacement. Try taking your foot off the gas and coasting. If it does not change it is the wheel bearing. If it does change it could be one of the pully's for the fan belts
