1985 Ford Crown Vic won't shift sometimes. Seems

1985 Ford Crown Vic won't shift sometimes. Seems to be worse when hot. Will intermittently refuse to shift & just rev the engine. Has happened in 2nd, & 3rd, but worst in 4th. Sometimes jerkily shifts, but has progressed to not shifting. May rev & not go gear, then 5-10 min later shift without issue. Fluids are OK. Not sure what to look at 1st?

My 1985 crown vic idles too high, how can I adjust it?

You can't adjust it, it is controlled automatically by a computer, if the idle is high there is a problem with the system.

Why my 2007 police crown Vic won't shift out of

All 2000 and up vehicles utilize a Solenoid which is powered by depressing the Brake Pedal to allow the Shift Lever to be move from Park to any other position. Is the Shift Lever located on the Steering Column or the Floor? In either case typically the Solenoids used by Ford do occasionally go bad. I highly recommend having a certified technician replace the solenoid.

1985 ford crown vic ltd 352 200k miles been running good burns NO oil.\r\ndriving at night engine shuts down. I turn lights off, wiggle turn signal switch and it starts again. Once I was making a right...

I dont see if the turn signal light has to do any thing with the engine shutting off, make sure the IAC idle air control valve is working, air filter is good, fuel filter is good and IF your vehicle has a power steering pressure switch then that could be causing it but with 1985 Crown Vic I dout it.

Transmission jerks on 1985 Crown Vic when cold. Doesn't want to shift, and transmission jerks violently when cold. Also, automatic transmission doesn't like to shift into 3rd gear, unless you exceed 45...

Unless you are low on fluid, I suspect you are in need of a rebuild. I have had similar problems before. Any shop will tell you to try a fluid and filter change. It has never brought one of mine back. I would suggest adding fluid to the top of the 'add fluid' area of the dipstick and no more. It can foam if it is to full, causing similar problems as being to low. I would add that if you have to replace the transmission - you need to consider that the car may not be worth the cost.
Good Luck.
