1998 Buick Le Sabre - Water pump needs to be replaced, Serpentine Belt constantly slips off and its overheating

My 1998 Buick Le Saber is overheating because of water pump and the serpentine belt constantly slips off. How much would it cost to fix the damage and what would be the best solution to this problem. I was charged to get this done for 475 but cut down to 400 this includes tire replacement, water pump, extra labor, and fixing the serpentine belt is this a common cost of repair?

HOW DO I TIGHTEN THE LOOSE BELT AFTER INSTALLATION ON 97 BUICK LE SABRE? REALLY NEED A DIAGRAM TO MAKE SURE I INSTALLED THE SERPENTINE BELT CORRECTLY.

There may be a diagram imprinted on fan shroud. There is a belt tensioner that tightens the belt. Also when installing belt be sure you have grooved part of belt riding on grooved pulleys. And flat side of belt riding on flat sided pulleys.

92 buick le saber---changing plug wires... rear cylinders are even, front are odd... from left (passenger side) to right(drv. side) what order is correct?? PLEASE help. am poor single father and...

If you stand at front of car with hood open, the left side of the engine (side with serpentine belt) is where the numbers start. Odd cylinder closest to serpentine belt is cylinder 1 and even cylinder closest to serpentine belt is cylinder 2. The cylinders are in numeric order, for example: the cylinder next to cylinder 1 is cylinder 3.

those wires are probably going down to the crank sensor if that sensor fails then the car will not start so fix the wiring and try replacing the crank sensor.

Serpentine belt slipped off. 1998 Dodge Gran Caravan 3.0 litre 6 cylinder

On this particular model of the 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan I determined that the upper hose from the water pump had slipped off and anti-freeze squirted on the serpentine belt causing it to slip off. Once the belt gets slick it never stays on. I replaced the belt by loosing the tensioner which is the idler pulley located in the center of the configuration, A big thanks to user motor1258for the configuration diagram.

Diagram for 1998 buick lasabre serpentine belt

I found the diagram in my owner's manual.
I replaced the belt on mine just 2 days ago. All you need to do is remove one bolt from the lower motor mount and remove the spacer. After you relieve the belt tensioner, the belt will slip right through the gap. Don't forget to support the engine before removing the bolt. As a backup I took a photo of the belt with my digital camera beforehand... just in case.

Howq do I remove serpentine belt on my 1999 buick La saber

Find the tensioner it will be a pulley that does nothing but put tension on the belt. There should be a square hole in it. that should fit a 3/8 inch drive socket wrench or breaker bar. Use that to remove the tension from the belt and remove - do the same to install new belt
