2014 frontier stering and ignition locked tried wiggkling wheel while turning key nothing

If your 2014 Frontier's steering and ignition are locked and wiggling the wheel while turning the key does not unlock it, there are a few possible causes and solutions you can try:
  1. Dead battery: If the battery is dead or low on power, it can cause the steering wheel lock to engage and prevent the key from turning. Try jump-starting the vehicle or replacing the battery to see if that resolves the issue.
  2. Faulty ignition switch: The ignition switch may be faulty and not responding to the key, preventing it from turning. You may need to replace the ignition switch to resolve the issue.
  3. Damaged steering column: The steering column may be damaged or worn, preventing the steering lock from disengaging. In this case, you may need to replace the steering column or have it repaired by a qualified mechanic.
  4. Malfunctioning lock cylinder: The lock cylinder itself may be malfunctioning or damaged, preventing the key from turning. You may need to replace the lock cylinder to resolve the issue.

My 2004 saab 93 key wont turn.the lights come on but the little brakes indicator wont light up on my gear slot but my emergency brake is stuck on and it says steering lock malfunction on my s.id

You can't turn the key due to the steering lock malfunction, you now need to have the systems control module scanned for faults. That is the first step to diagnose and repair this fault. You will need a special scan tool for this, so find a shop that has one that will read this Saab system codes.

Ignition switch will not engage/push in/turn to start car

Disconnect your battery and try the key. If it works, the car has an electric lockout latch that is malfunctioning inside the lock. If the lock still won't turn with the battery loose, try wiggling the steering wheel (to relax the steering wheel lock pin) and jiggling the key. Either of these two wiggles making the key operate means worn out key or lock cylinder. Oh, also make sure the car is in neutral or park.

A warning light showing "steering lock malfunction" came on then disappeared - twice. What's the problem and is the car safe to drive?

If the SID Unit (or profiler) displays "Steering Lock Malfunction" get to your local dealer promptly. There has been issues with the steering lock module and they are now being replaced by Saab under warranty. The module is located under the steering column and must be replaced depending on the part number on the module itself. See your local dealer to find out if your module needs to be replaced.
