If it has the push button controls on the dash I have had those fail frequently. A lot of times you may push the button and the light may blink and then still stay in 2wd. That switch is also the control module for the 4wd. If it is the know select you need to check for power at the actuator on the transfer case.
hello there -- grab a wiring schemata for your vehicle at your local dealers PARTS DEPARTMENT -- (stay away from service department. If you smooze the csr, they'll be very helpful. good luck with your project work! Best regards Ck
For you to switch this vehicle from 4 wheel to 2 wheel or 2 to 4. You should follow these steps. TURN VEHICLE ON, PUSH ON BRAKE PUT VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL.STILL HOLDING BRAKE AND VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL PUT VEHICLE IN 4 wheel or 2 wheel if desired. IT SHOULD WORK. Good Luck
Had the same concern. Had to take mine to the dealership and have them replace the system. Be careful when you change between the drives. Vehicle MUST be in park, of course started, and you can change the drive. WAIT until the light completely stops blinking before placing into gear or trying to change to another setting. When you change the setting, a gear arm raises or lowers, and resets. Listen and you can hear it. Often when the vehicle has sat for a while, or if the battery has been disconnected, you will hear it resetting. If this does not work, you have to take it into the shop to have the gear sensor repalced.
