My 1995 nissan maxima needs a fuel injector replaced. is this exspensive and should i keep driving my car?

If its one. for a nissan the fuel injector can range from 150 to 300 dollors. what will kill you is the labor. you can drive your car but try to just go to work school what ever your priotities are. dont drive far until fixed. you have several injector which one can cause the other to malfunction. becareful and fix asap

    it depend, if injector 2,4,6 its relitive easy to get , to. 1,3,5 or in thr rear which the intake manifold has to be remove to access,but verify that it.s not a ign coil or spark plug problem. if its the injector that's bad it may be dumping fuel in the exhaust which will deteritated the cat convertor

Bad fuel infector on #1 cyl. Do I have to pull fuel rail or just remove phillips head screws on injector and replace . I know I have to take pressure off fuel rails.

YEP YOU HAVE TO REMOVE FUEL RAIL TO REPLACE FUEL INJECTOR AND NEED A NEW O - RING ALSO.YOU HAVE TO GET NEW O - RING AT NISSAN DEALERSHIP.

Looks like you're not alone. Doing some research and it would appear to be a common problem. It's a process of elimination:
  • Change fuel filter; a bad fuel filter will produce the symptoms you're experiencing
  • if the fuel filter doesn't cure your problem (i think it will) you may have a clogged fuel injector; this is less likely than the fuel filter but still possible. There are some good fuel system cleaners out there that work pretty well

95 maxima fuel injector..

unplug each injector one at a time and use a multimeter to check the resistance between the terminals on the injector. they should read 10-14 ohms

TRY cleaning your throttle plate. these get some carbon buildup and will restrict airflow at idle and can cause the computer to try and compensate for it
