SOURCE: THE 1998 TOYOTA AVALON ENGINE LIGHT GOES ON

Don't take a chance on what the dealer says, when the engine light comes on take it and have the code read and it will tell you what is going on. The light must be on at the time the code is read though or it won't tell you anything. Most auto parts stores will do it for free.

SOURCE: 1998 Toyota Avalon Check engine light

should have an OBDII connection under the dash on the drivers side. Looks like an elongated computer port, probably has a cover on it that says OBDII. You can buy a code reader from an auto store like pepboys for around $100 i think. Just a side note, usually if the car is still driving ok and not acting weird, it is an emissions sensor.

SOURCE: 2001 toyota avalon engine and vsc light stays on

You have to use a scanner and pull the code out that is causing the check engine light to come on. whatever code/codes you find are probably related to vsc light.
Good luck and keep me posted

SOURCE: how to reset the check engine light on a 1999 toyota avalon xls

You need to have a code reader/scan tool hooked up to retrieve the code/s that triggered the engine light. You can have this done at most auto parts stores for free. Try Auto zone, Checkers, Napa, or Murray's. The engine light will eventually go out if the computer does not receive any codes after many cycles turning the ignition on and off. It will not go out if there are codes still present. After you've retrieve the code/s bring them back here and we will have a better understanding of what caused them.

Did you hook the jumper cables up backwards, if so you have big problems. It should be red to red on battery post marked (+), black cable to the engine any bare metal.

What is the firing orde on a 2005 3.0 toyota avalon

The firing order is very simple. Standing at the front of the car looking at the engine, #1 plug is the left rear. #2 is the left front, #3 is the middle rear, #4 is the middle front, #5 is the right rear and #6 is the right front. Most all Toyota's with a side mounted engine follow this pattern.

2005 avalon has ruptured oil cooling hose, with loss of all oil. Now has a rear main seal leak. Are the two related?

no they arent related, unless the engine crankshaft experienced extreme tempuratures from oil starvation. This mayhave caused the seal to expand and crack. Its possible but very rare!! Hopefully this helps!!
