Code p0300 and p0302 on 2002 saturn vue

My 2002 Saturn vue was running fine, until the check engine light came on...I took it to my local pep boys and they ran the codes, came up p0300 and 0302, said it was more then likely a valve problem and it would have to be looked at by the dealer...currently it is at my local GM dealer waiting to be looked at, not sure what it is? I have been googling what the codes could mean..

the scan tool that you are using will not read codes from all of the modules. take the car to a gm dealer to have it checked with a tech2

SOME TIME PCM GET A VOLTAGE SPIKE.OR ELECTRICAL INTERFERENCE WILL CAUSE SERVICE LIGHT TO COME ON WITH NO CODES.IF IT KEEP HAPPENING TAKE IT TO DEALERSHIP TO CHECK IT OUT.

1174 is a lean code, and would have to been set first because it will not set when the 0300 is there. 0300 is a random misfire, because it read after the lean code, it was probably caused by the lean condition. 1st check for vacuum leaks from hoses or intake gaskets, you cal listen for a hissing sound, or spray carb cleaner around intake systems, a change in rpm will be noticed when spraying near a vac leak. other probable causes are the upstream 02 sensor, map sensor, or fuel delivery problems. does the vehicle idle porly, or does it miss at the top end?

run fault codes and check for coil problems and ignition module faults.

I have a 1999 Saturn sc3. It was fine until the hurricane this past weekend. As soon as I turned the car on, the l"Service Engine Soon" light came on. I am wondering if it is safe to drive or...

The Service Engine soon light indicates that something is likely wrong with your emissions system. It could be any number of things but it is OK to drive to a repair shop or parts shop to get the codes read. Some of these issues can cause damage if you don't get the vehicle repaired soon but you can drive it a little bit (you won't need to get it towed).
I would recommend an Autozone or Pep Boys to get the code read as it may be something as simple as replacing the gas cap.

My 2003 saturn vue service ebgine light stays

The CEL (Check Engine Light) will not go out until you hook up a OBD II scanner to your vehicle and erase the code. If it comes back again after you erase it than either the original problem still exists or you have a new problem. You can go to your local AutoZone store and they can hook up a scanner and erase your code for free.

Your best bet there, is to run in to one of the big autoparts stores (Autozone, Pep Boys etc) and get a free code scan done. If the code doesn't point you in direction of fix, get back to us with that code(s) and we will be happy to assist you further.
Much cheaper and faster this way.

A yellow engine light came on in my 2004 Saturn Vue, and now it's difficult to accellerate sometimes and the light sometimes flashes.

There is a problem in your Engine or Transmission. The ECM has entered Limp Mode so you can get it to a shop. In many cases this is just an Oxygen Sensor which is easily replaced. Take the vehicle to a local Auto parts store which offers to read error codes. Auto Zone will do this for free as will O'Rielley's Auto Parts. If it is the O2 Sensor you can get everything you need right there. You'll need the part, about $40, a Haynes repair Manual on your vehicle, about $20 and a special tool to remove and install the part, about $14 or you can take it to a shop and pay about $140 to $240 to have it done.
