2001 honda crv all wheel drive

My 2001 honda crv staled out, and will not start. The battery and alternator seem fine, the care has plent of rpms when you turn the key over. Also most of the dash lights are on. also the gear indicator shows the car being in park and drive at the same time when I first turn the key on. Where should I start??

My 2008 honda crv died and wont start now acting like battery died but is fully charged

Check your battery connections. Also do the dash lights come on with the key? If so , you may have a bad starter.

Check to see if alternator is charging. Battery light is an indicator that your alternator is not charging. Start engine use multimeter at battery 20 v dc or if autorange meter just dc. engine at idle the battery should read 14 - 14.5 volts. if not replace alternator.

Engine starts shutting down then starts working again, seems like battery.

My Honda CRV (1998) is making a high pitched whine sometimes when I'm driving. It seems to happen when the rpms are high before shifting (I own a standard transmittion CRV). It whines between 2.5 and 3...

Check your power steering fluid level. If too low the pump will whine like that. Put some in it if low. Don't buy power steering fluid, automatic transmission fluid is the same thing and is much cheaper.

1997 Honda CRV, over 219,000 miles. Stalls out periodically even though it starts OK. Can be pulling out, running engine at low rpms and it stalls. May be related to electrical as it is more likely to...

Considering that it occurs more often with the a/c on, it is most likely a problem with either your battery, where it is too weak to sustain the engine output, or with your alternator. I advise checking your battery, and if that isn't the problem, checking your alternator. If neither of those seem to be the problem, its also possible that it is your torque converter, or a skewed setting in your ecu, both of which would most likely need to be checked by a professional.

Does the high-pitch whine exist when the engine is just running? Not moving (transmission is not in gear)? Running but with transmission in neutral (coasting down hill)?

Smell of burning rubber rear offside wheel area

Hi there! Check out this link.
http://www.automotivehelper.com/topic175126.htm
this link will take you to a forum full of people with CRV's who are having the exact same problem. It seems to be with almost every year of the CRV as well. Unfortunately Honda has no explanation or solution for this problem. I have a 2009 CRV and have not had this smell, but I have been having a ton of other problems with it. I have been incredibly dissapointed with this car, and will never get another Honda. I hope you have better luck than I, and be careful with it cause I think there are some serious problems with these CRV's. Good Luck!
