SOURCE: engine won"t turn over(crank)

I ran into this once also, and I remember that I just disconnected the battery for about half an hour.

Try that if you haven't already.

Try wiggling the gearshift lever when you put it in park. I have a Chevette that does the same thing. If that doesn't work, I would check the actual ignition switch that is down on the steering column under the dash. It could either be worn or out of adjustment. Any questions I'll be glad to help.

By manually unlocking the driver side door with the vehicle's key, this should disarm the alarm system. If it fails on the first attempt try turning the key to the unlock position twice in a row. This is the standard security procedure in case of remote loss or malfunction.

2007 Pontiac G5. How to disable the security antitheft system on a 2007 Pontiac G5

Question edited for clarity. Presumably 'antithetic' was supposed to be anti-theft?
Question moved from Kitchen Appliances category!

Short answer, you can't. The system is there to stop exactly what you are trying to do, drive the car without the correct credentials. You have to fix whatever the problem is (you don't tell us that), not try and find a way to bypass. The antitheft system is made up of sensors, the anti-theft module, the BCM and the ECM.

How to reset anti theif alarm

There are different alarm systems, not same for all kind of cars. You should explain, by the way, what do you mean by "resetting" an alarm.
If you mean that you have an activated alarm and you want to deactivate it some can be deactivated by turning the start key.
Then, some have a hidden button you may press
Finally, some CAN'T be deactivated, only by remote.
You only can turn off the sound removing battery cable then deactivate physically the system and to do this you should know alarm installation techniques.
To change alarm coding you need and electronic tecnician.

2008 ford focus Any body have a problem with ignition lock module? key and tumbler is not turning the ignition switch far enough to engage start the car.

Some issues here, I'll give you a few thoughts. The antitheft system should have recognized that a key was not in the ignition. So something must have happened to the antitheft, but that is not a issue for the lock not turning enough. Some ignition switches have a sliding mount which times the mechanical distance of the control rod or cable that you are trying to move with the screwdriver in the ignition. This simply means that the ignition switch was secured too high on the steering column when it was mounted. Also some lock cylinders will fit inside the ignition but when they are installed 180 degrees off, it messes up the distance on the rod length. It is like the activating fixture(as say a half moon shape) is on the left instead of the right and now can not move the control rod far enough.

Getting back to the module, if it is not noticing you are not using a key and it starts and runs you have a problem. Hope this helps.

2003 honda pilot. After the car is turned off the key will not turn far enough to allow it to come out of the ignition.

try to remove the shifter from park and then back.there is a cable that runs from the shifter to the ignition switch to prevent removing the key without vehicle shifter in park. if it is the electronic type, then the switch located at the shifter is busted. the problem is most likely at the shifter

The pontiac G5 has a defect on some of them that need a new ignition switch. I just had to get mine replaced because mine did the exact same thing. If you remove the fuse it will not fix the problem!

One of my keys to my 2000 ford windstar broke and since then my car wont turn on with the other key that i have. Could it be some kind of anti theft system that i not letting the car turn on. I mean it has...

Some of the Ford Keys DO have an antitheft chip in them. so this may very well be your problem... If your other key doesn't have a big plastic Ford scripted head on it, then it's most likely not going to accomodate the antitheft device.
Also the "clicking sound" you mentioned, may be a simple drained battery and it's got enough power to run the lights, but when you turn the motor over it just clicks... Very typiccal forr this to happen as well. Get a jump start and see if that solves the clicking... Best of luck on this..

How to reset the anti theft swith and Where is it

Some possible solutions that might help: 1. I'm not sure if this model comes with a Master Ignition key (which is usually a different colour fob or shape). If it does, then try starting the car with the Master key, it should override and reset the antitheft system and allow the car to start. 2. The Alarm keyfob (if it has one) battery may need replacing. 3. There may be an override key operated switch on the alarm itself or secreted away somewhere inside the car, which you can use to activate/deactivate the antitheft device? 4. You may have to key a code number onto a set of buttons on the dashboard to reset the Antitheft device? 5. Do you have the User Manual for the vehicle. There should be some explanation in there about what precautions to take when replacing the vehicle battery, and how to reset the anti theft device so that the engine can be started again
